I have a deathtouch creature. You have a threat. I play
Setessan Tactics
or
Savage Punch
. You no longer have a threat.
The "Rattlesnakes":
Sedge Scorpion
Ruthless Ripper
Pharika's Chosen
Killing opponents' creatures:
Setessan Tactics
Savage Punch
Time to Feed
Supporting cards:
Mortal's Resolve
Pharika, God of Affliction
(doubles as one of the big guns, below)
Bow of Nylea
The big guns:
Polukranos, World Eater (brilliant with Bow of Nylea)
Soul of Innistrad
Erebos, God of the Dead
Garruk, Apex Predator
Here's how the deck basically plays out. On turn 1 you should drop a green or black mana source and play a "rattlesnake" (as I've called them) - the 1-drop deathtouchers. Then, either hold back (if your opponent has creatures now) or try to sneak some damage in.
If your opponent ever plays a big threat, use a fight spell or sit back and build up your board state, making sure they won't attack. (If they do attack, it's possible they have a combat trick to save their creature. Watch out. Likewise, you shouldn't fight-spell unless they don't have mana up or aren't in the right colors for, say, Gods Willing.)
Keep building up, killing their creatures with fight spells and blocking anything important that attacks - you can use Mortal's Resolve to keep your deathtouchers around. You should only attack when you feel certain that they're not going to be able to protect their creatures. Or if you have an active Pharika; unless it seems like they'll be able to swing back for a lot, keep attacking with Pharika.
Tips:
Deal with flying by using fight spells. This deck has no flying or reach, but thankfully you have a lot of fighting you can do. If it's a small flier, you can also use Bow of Nylea.
Unless your opponent has a protection or indestructibility combat trick, any creatures they swing with won't survive. Make sure of it. Use this to your advantage - deathtouch discourages attacks very well, especially when every creature counts (as often happens in Standard - there's no room for "chump attackers").
Some matchups just won't work in your favor. USE THE SIDEBOARD.
Unravel the Aether
(and Back to Nature) against Ascendancy combo, Whip reanimator (of any sort), definitely Constellation, or really anything that uses artifacts or enchantments. Drown in Sorrow or Bile Blight against tokens (particularly R/W heroic). If you're using Drown, however, you should also add Dictate of Erebos - a lot of your creatures are pretty small. Definitely put in the Dictate (and don't dump your entire hand) if you're playing against a black deck - they will have Drown in Sorrow, Bile Blight or Doomwake Giant in their sideboards for sure, if not their main deck. Garruk, Apex Predator is for if you find yourself stalling against planeswalkers. Normally, you can eventually get damage through - but sometimes you can't, and that's what Garruk is for. Additionally, his 3/3 deathtouch beasts can be really helpful. He's also good for targeted removal if you find yourself facing a ton of fliers, but Polukranos can help you there too - unless he's been stopped by a Phyrexian Revoker, in which case you've still got other fight spells. Last but not least, Whip of Erebos is there for the lifelink - this deck does a lot of damage with creatures, and you need the whip if you're against some variety of burn, or just losing too much life to the Llanowar Wastes or Erebos; probably a good card to side in against red decks of most varieties. Perhaps also use it for whipping stuff back from your graveyard to have it fight their creatures.
Maybe one of the best plays you can make is to attack with Polukranos when you have a Bow of Nylea out, and (before blockers) use Polly K's monstrous ability to ping each of their creatures for 1 and wipe out their board. If you do this, though, keep in mind: Polukranos can actually die if you hit large creatures in this way.
