Alright guys, the wife has become interested in learning the game. I know this isn't exactly a great deck for a starter, but she has more than enough intelligence to figure it out. Plus, the style of this deck suits her personality (go figure).

The main purpose for constructing a deck for her is to:1. Make it affordable.2. Competitive for casual play (possibly modern later down the road).3. Give her something she enjoys.

I have only playtested this against a BRaggro deck (my deck) so I haven't really gotten to see it in action much.

Positives:--I thoroughly enjoy the Serum Visions+Gitaxian Probe combo. It proves to be a good way to set yourself up for the next turn (especially in the opening hand).--Nivix Cyclops was a late addition and has proven to be very effective against a few different things. Combo with Stonewright is a nice little treat as well.--Monastery Swiftspear has proven to be a very reliable asset offensively and defensively.--Stubborn Denial was also a late addition and I enjoy how it plays to protect yourself. It's also a nice way to put a hindrance in the opponent's mana play for that turn.--Mana Leak and Izzet Charm are nice to combine with other spells to boost Monastery Swiftspear and Nivix Cyclops.

Negatives:--Though Nivix Cyclops is great to defend with, and attack when given the chance, I'm finding it difficult to capitalize on his great ability. I was thinking something like Artful Dodge to activate him while bonded to Stonewright (or alone), but it just doesn't seem like enough boost.--I started the deck with Vapor Snag but decided to SB it due to the fact that the opponent was 'outlasting' me. Even though I was able to slow their progress, I wasn't able to deal lethal damage before they eventually had card advantage over me. Suggestions for removal?--I'm not sure what to make of Delver of Secrets   and Invisible Stalker in this deck. I know adding in Runechanter's Pike would be a good way to take advantage of them both, but if you have any ideas, constructive feedback is very welcome.

Overall I have enjoyed the mechanics of the deck, but there just isn't enough for lethal damage. Any help would be appreciated. Please keep in mind I'm trying to make this cost effective (Steam Vents and Serum Visions are necessary I think and are a huge chunk of the cost). I'd like to build the main deck solid before I construct a sideboard.

Thanks for your time! :D
