A Brief Introduction to Tower Control

Objectives of the Deck

  1. Control the state of the Game with Counter-spells,Removal, and Sweepers.
  2. Utilizes cards to out value your opponent and punish all card advantage.
  3. Gain Advantage with the flexibility of energy.

Key Components

Energy

  1. Dynavolt Tower is the center piece to the entire deck. The card is a repeatable source of removal and Burn. Just one of these out gives the additional text " every 2.5 spells deal 3 damage to target creature or player". The more towers you have the sweeter the rewards.

  2. Consulate Surveillance is one of the most unique cards in the deck. A fog effect that also gain 4 is underrated in our current standard. the most interesting thing i found with our fog effect is that it also gets around hexproof as it does not "target" the permanent. You simply choose the source. Important side note you may chose any source (permanents, emblems, and even spells on the stack.

  3. Aether Hub is simply the best multicolored land in standard that also nets an .

  4. Harnessed Lightning is very deceptive card. Most people don't realize that this is a modular card. That can be a Pyretic Ritual for .

  5. Glimmer of Genius is just a nice 4 cmc draw spell with the upside of getting us some.

Strategy

By now I'm sure you understand alot of the core pieces to the puzzle. Lets talk about our deck from a diffrent perspective.

We are playing a 3 color deck. Anticipate gives us some flexibility to search out what card we need when we need it. Especially lands.

Our opponents are predictable. How do you push through damage from a fog generator like Consulate Surveillance? Two options destroy the generator which is not very desirable since most removal will be pointed at Fevered Visions or go wide with more threats than we can fog. So let them go wide and then deploy a Sweeper such as Fumigate or Descend upon the Sinful to set them back to 0.
