Homura_Akemi: Honestly, I am thinking of changing the name to "Tainted Love" - simply a better song reference! Hah.

Depending on how much sacrifice there is going on, Mazirek, Kraul Death Priest would be a nice addition (or probably because he's my pet card since I have him commandeering a deck haha). I'm surprised Fleshbag Marauder and friends aren't included in here, I think they're great as a stax include. Also, if your curve supports it, Pathbreaker Ibex would be another great wincon with a powerful creature.
Feel free to check out my Mazirek deck for ideas, I'm sure there will be plenty of ideas as far as stax pieces go.

Hope these suggestions help!

Wouldn't BSZ just kill off Hapatra? And you'd only get 1 snake for killing her anyhow, then whatever amount of snakes for the other creatures on the Battlefield as well. So with 10 creatures on Battlefield, sure you'd get 10 snakes, but Hapatra would die if you spent more than 1 for X.

Daedalus19876 Thanks for commenting on my deck, your suggestions have helped. Looking at yours to be honest there isn't much I would change. It has more land than I like to run in my decks, maybe you could drop one to play Demonic Tutor? I think 36 would be fine.
Great deck. If I come across anything new to add in mine I'll be sure to let you know.

Daedalus19876 I've put a Seedborn Muse in my build. Not sure if it's something you would include, my deck is more stax heavy so will help. Might be worth thinking about though.

gdamatov7: Sure, but losing your commander is always a danger of using a board wipe. I'd happily kill the board and end up with ten snakes even if it meant losing my Commander.
Jamiemac: I'll consider it! I suspect it's better in your build though because you play more cards that prevent opponents' untapping. Have you considered Sword of Feast and Famine to get the same effect? :)

Daedalus19876: Sword of Feast and Famine is a good shout. Spaces are getting tight in the deck now, sure I can find a spot for it.

Sweet build. You could add some persist creatures or Cauldron of Souls

studajew: Thanks! If you like it you're welcome to +1 ;)
And I'll consider Cauldron of Souls, thanks.

I think you should reconsider Flourishing Defenses, cuz it is just bonkers with Black Sun's Zenith. Ruling says you get 1 token for EACH counter.

dscherer21: I want to find space for it, but Nest of Scarabs does the same thing for cheaper :( And most of my -1/-1 counter-placers only put 1 anyway.
If I find I don't have enough token creation, I'll add it back in :)

Okay, so I see that you seem to mainly win via an infinite combo, which to me means you're leaning more towards that than actual stax plays like your tags suggest, but if you're going to have that tag anyway I would presume you'd need a way to make the stax effects one-sided.
Right?
So how the hell has nobody brought up Melira, Sylvok Outcast? I mean, yeah, she'll stop your combo from going off on your own creatures, but she also negates most of your board wide creature killing because those are all -1/-1 counter based, so it is a win-win there isn't it?
At the least I would question using either of the the snake legends given you have 0 snake creatures without them/your commander. At least one I feel is better replaced by that Flourishing Defenses in the maybeboard.

TheRedGoat: shrug You said it yourself. She shuts off all of my infinite combos, and generally speaking I'm okay with putting -1/-1 counters on my creatures in exchange for snakes. She used to be in here, but after she messed up my combos one too many times, she got the axe. With regards to the cuts you mention, I can definitely see what you're saying with regards to Seshiro the Anointed, but Shisato, Whispering Hunter is a surprisingly good tempo piece if I have a snake or two (and I almost always do). Flourishing Defenses is still in testing, but there's a few cards I'd want to add beforehand.
Darkcoco23: I'd rather have Parallel Lives TBH - Doubling Season only doubles the -1/-1 counters on my creatures, and is one mana more.

Enough is enough, I've had it with these motherf'ing snakes during my motherf'ing EDH games.

Viridian Corrupter seems lack luster when compared with the rest of the deck. if infect/wither work with hapatra there are stronger sources of those like Corrosive Mentor (should be awesome with Nest of Scarabs), if you want the destroy there are instant speed options like Krosan Grip. Honestly everything else looks fine you could probably not use the any color pain lands but necroskitter could grab a thing that needs red mana or something...

I have some land suggestions for you:
Tainted Wood, Twilight Mire, Oran-Rief, the Vastwood, Temple of the False God, and Westvale Abbey Flip.

Okay, so what about coming down on tribal synergies and running other snakes? Or even Conspiracy maybe?

I would definitely play Coat of Arms cuz buff snakes are better than small snakes.

Bhaal666: Thank you for the comment! While I do like Viridian Corrupter, I cut her for Necropede instead.
Delta-117: Yeah, I do need to tinker with the mana base a bit. That being said, I almost never play Temple of the False God outside of a ramp-heavy deck (which this is not).
TheRedGoat: I've currently cut the deck down to only having one "snake tribal" card. It's just too variable how many snakes I possess.
RazortoothMtg: I'll consider it! However, there are several goblin decks in my meta, and I don't want to give them the boost...

happy to see an old school card like harbinger of night and serrated arrows in the list. The black ring that gives regeneration might come into utility if you want to protect a keystone creature in your strategy. Ring of Xathrid +1'ed
April 16, 2017 2:41 p.m.
was just thinking the ring of xathrid would be awesome to get extra turns of activations from harbinger of night.
