DarkStarStorm i had similar ambitions at one point. It is still a thought in the back of my mind. And I think it depends on if you want heavy stax or heavy token generation or something in between those. Other strategies of course work too but those seem to apply the best. I would automatically remove Kresh the Bloodbraided from the list since he wants high power dying and -1/-1 counters hurts that.
In no particular order I think these are the options that work:
Adun Oakenshield- would help bring back your stuff that dies to -1/-1.
Prossh, Skyraider of Kher- always great with a token strategy.
Sek'Kuar, Deathkeeper- things should be dying a lot and this is another great token producer.
Shattergang Brothers- slow but solid stax strategy.
Wasitora, Nekoru Queen- another good stax commander, not sure it is as good as shattergang though.
Xira Arien- when all else fails draw cards!
Personally I really like the Shattergang Brothers or Sek'Kuar, Deathkeeper.

DarkStarStorm and DrukenReaps: Personally, I'd vote for Shattergang Brothers. They're just so handy, especially when you have lots of expendable snakes.
You'll need to play a lot of tutors to make sure you reliably get both of them, though, and a lot of protection since you can't re-cast from command zone.
Good luck! :) Tag me when you have a workable draft.

Nice work, getting the Mana Crypt...if you haven't checked out my deck in a while, it's been really updated.
Do you have any long term cards you wanna get for the deck? Any expensive cards?

Demon of Dark Schemes may be very useful in the deck even if the snakes die you can still get their strongest creatures or Skirsdag High Priest get a few demons

hurricane219: Thanks! The only card I'd really still like to get for this deck is Gaea's Cradle (plus updating the landbase with Bayou and fetches) haha.
gdm1989: For now, I think I'll pass on those. They don't overly fit the direction I'm trying to go with the list.

have you thought about adding a necrotic ooze? it makes infinite mana with Devoted Druid/Grim Poppet or Devoted druid/Initiate.

Cool deck. You may want an Arcane Lighthouse to handle hexproof creatures. +1

Great looking list! Looks fun. One think I was suprised not to see and I think is worthy of a spot in the deck: Blight Sickle. Colorless, on theme, feeds your general.

LeonGraves123: I was thinking about it, yeah. But it's easy enough to combo with them already, and it's a slot I don't desperately need.
Jimmy_Chinchila: Thanks! I'll consider it if they become a problem!

SufferFromEDHD: I considered it :) But it tended to be too much mana (4 total investment) for too little of an effect :(

Have you thought about adding in Parallel Lives?

Mortarpod It's all fun and games until snakes get launched from cannons.

headshotty69: I've considered it, and it was in the rough draft. That being said, it doesn't do enough for 4 mana here.
Jd3547: Hehe. As cute as that is with deathtouch, though, I think 2 mana per sacrifice is a bit rough :(
November 15, 2017 2:27 p.m.
For cost, its steep no doubt. The way i look at Mortarpod is a reusable targeted removal. (Which i will gladly pay 2 colorless and a snake for). Large amounts of mana aren't necessarily a bad thing for a color equipped to deal with it.

Windmill slam into this deck, yes or no?
I think it's great to curve this after Hapatra on T3, to give her protection and give inevitability in the late-game (we can reanimate her to avoid the tax).

I had the exact same thought as you with Journey to Eternity
Good Protection for Hapatra or other combo pieces, but think Hapatra will be the best choice
Amazing with additional recursion, can avoid tax and reanimate combo pieces that might have been killed. Would make it safer to play Devoted Druid as an ordinary card, cause in my meta as soon as it hits the board, it will be targeted.

I run a similar build. I found that Crumbling Ashes did some work.

thurge: I tried it in here for a while! It was pretty decent, TBH, but it relied on me already having another source of -1 counters (and sometimes Hapatra was the only thing with a counter on her, at which point it's worse than a dead card). I'd love to find space for it again, but slots are tight...

Seems like a very promising list! Great job! I am willing to try these snakes soon enought but i am a bit concerned about those nasty wipe-removals. My meta has a fair amount of those! Any suggestions on how to overcome these troublesome cards? I'm thinking heroic intervention as a possible tech-card, any others?

How does Mikaeus + Devoted Druid create infinite Mana? Without Lightning Greaves or a way to give haste there can't be infinite mana generated nor could there be infinite sac triggers. Seems kind of unreliable.

Alnair: Heroic Intervention is probably the best option in our colors, yeah, but if you can tutor for/power out Eldrazi Monument quickly it can also do the trick. If the boardwipes you're worried about are toughness-based like Toxic Deluge or Sweltering Suns, you could run something like Tower Defense (which also doubles as a nasty surprise for someone who thinks it's safe to hit you with fliers).
It's also easy-ish to add more strong reanimation, and reanimate your combo pieces after a boardwipe. No need to worry about losing tokens if you generate an infinite number of them next turn!
SliverKing19: As I said in my writeup, Devoted Druid+Mikaeus, the Unhallowed creates infinite ETB/LTB/-1 triggers. IF you also have Ashnod's Altar or Lightning Greaves, you can get infinite mana as a bonus :)

Daedalus19876 is that supposed to happen in the same turn? Undying doesn't give the creature haste.

Daedalus19876 says... #25
SliverKing19: You can use the "Put a -1 counter on Devoted Druid: Untap her" ability without needing haste (since it doesn't require tapping).
IE you do not need haste to get infinite ETB/LTB/-1 triggers. You DO need haste to get infinite mana, though.

I've been brewing The Scorpion God and would always look across the fence and notice that the grass is pretty green for negative counter synergies with Hapatra. Let's get this discussion going! What would be the best Jund commander to tear down the fence and meld the three colors together for the ultimate negative counter deck!?
Here are our options:
Adun Oakenshield
Bartel Runeaxe
Darigaaz, the Igniter
Karrthus, Tyrant of Jund
Kresh the Bloodbraided
Prossh, Skyraider of Kher
Sek'Kuar, Deathkeeper
Shattergang Brothers
Vaevictis Asmadi
Wasitora, Nekoru Queen
Xira Arien
