How to be an Esper Badass:

Traft ShopPicture brought to you by the great that is Microsoft Paint

I wanted to make an Esper list to modern. I tried full control, but I wasn't too keen on it. I tried making it more midrange-y and this is the final result of many different versions. Meet, Esper Geist. This deck was inspired by a youtuber.

The deck works by holding board control while attacking with cheap but effective creatures.

This is a little bit budget, so don't suggest any Dark Confidants or Snapcaster Mages or anything.

Zoo- This is the worst matchup for this deck. The combination of burn and creatures is just too much. Burn alone isn't as bad, since they don't run creatures and I might be able to out run them with Geist and Tasigur, but since zoo plays those pesky blockers for Geist and removal for Tasigur, they'll probably kill me before I can even see my Ojutai, let alone casting him and I'll be dead soon enough. The best tactic against zoo is get Tasigur as soon as possible and hope they don't have removal in their hand.

Affinity- This is a pretty easy one, though it can be rough. If you'll get enough removal and spirit tokens to block, you'll get through eventually. Geist isn't as bad against affinity as you might think, because once the path is clear, it's not hard to win.

R/G Tron- This is actually pretty hard, but manageable. The plan against Tron is to go as aggressive as you can. Because if not, soon you'll have big eldrazis against your Geist. With sideboard though it gets much easier.

You should play this deck if

-You like Esper

-You like control, but not the -draw 'n' go- type

-You like Geist of Saint Traft

-You don't mind losing a couple of friends

You shouldn't play this deck if

-You don't like any type of control

-Your friends own a Blood Moon

Pros

-Good against both grindy and aggressive decks

-Cheap as in it doesn't play Snapcaster Mage

Cons

-Not so great against Tron and whatnot

-Not so great against Burn and Zoo

-Can't win Blood Moon

And this is still the same Traft Shop, if you're wondering.

Through many tests with Myth Realized I realized (pun intended) that it just wasn't good enough. I saw alot of people playing Dragonlord Ojutai in modern so I figured I'd give it a shot.
