You should really consider making this a blu/ black mill deck. That way you can add cards like [Consuming Abberation], [Mind Funeral], [Breaking / Entering], and [Mirko Vosk, Mind Drinker]
[Ring of Evos Isle] doesn't really fit with your theme.
Take a look at my deck, you are missing some really good ones like [Tome Scour], [Memory Sluice], [Increasing Confusion], [Mind Sculpt], [Archive Trap] - [Ghost Quarter] combo, [Psychic Spiral], and [Chronic Flooding]

If I had access/money for the cards, I would love to get a legit black-blue mill deck. Unfortunately that won't happen any time soon.
And believe me, I wish I had more Hedron Crab s.
The Ring of Evos Isle can give my guys hexproof and give some one like my Undead Alchemist a bigger boost. And I've beaten people down in life before their library emptied with combos like Aqueous Form and the Ring. Or Invisible Stalker /AEther Figment and the ring.
I had two Increasing Confusion s in my original version, but I took them out for the moment due to their usual high/best effective cost for a limited amount of damage. We'll see if they stay on the sideboard long.

are you set on this list being mono blue? Because spacing black would give you access to a lot more mill options. Cards like Breaking , Glimpse the Unthinkable , Mind Funeral , and Mind Grind are mainstays in most casual mill decks.

I actually would like to keep it Mono-Blue. I don't have the black/blue cards anyway, so staying blue only is for the best.

I would suggest running more Hedron Crab , because Hedron Crab is the best.

Also, Bident of Thassa could really help with card draw.

Keening Stone !!!!!!! it mills them for however many cards are in their graveyard... So plus Traumatize , well, yeah, you get it.

Oh, oh! also... Phenax, God of Deception and Horseshoe Crab are amazing.

Oh wow...I love that combo...another reason I'd love to go Black-Blue. That and a Zombie Mill deck. Alas...if only I had the cards...

I'd add the Tome scours and the Keening stone to help the mill process

Not 100% sure about the Tome Scour s, but I'm definitely looking to fit the Keening Stone in. The problem is, I have no idea what cards should be taken out for what.
And that's also a problem for everything on the Maybeboard lol

also look into Psychic Spiral its pretty nice for mill and deck refresh

I'll look into Quicken . It sounds good. I have the Tome Scour s, but no idea what cards I'd swap for them. And I'm very much against letting my opponent draw cards, unless through Jace, Memory Adept . I'd hate to give them ammo against me lol. So probably a no to Howling Mine . I have Mind Sculpt , but compared to Tome Scour , it's not as good (at least I think so). And I have trouble fitting that card in haha

another mage after my own heart!! well done on this amazing deck!as for suggestions, might I suggest creating a sideboard for those useful maybe boards... i.e. Keening Stone
, Tome Scour
, and other cards.
Furthermore, I personally run into an issue quite a bit with people pulling a saving card or combo out at the last second, with no cards in library, because instants and activated abilities are still at instant speed. so may I suggest some more draw mechanics for opponents? I usually don't like to allow my opponents a draw either lol, but I do see sometimes that allowing them to draw on top of a mill, works in my favor for a quick win.

Archive Trap is only amazing if you are playing against opponents who regularly search their library. In modern its amazing because of fetch lands. In casual...we can't tell how good it is because we don't know what he plays against.

Mindcrank is a great card, if you ever want to splash black though, Mindcrank + Duskmantle Guildmage ultimate win combo right there.
August 7, 2014 8:34 p.m.
I'd be worried that any drawing my opponent does will give them a card they need to stop me haha. And yeah, the people I play don't search their decks a whole lot. Mindcrank doesn't seem like a bad card, even without using Black. Especially with Aqueous Form and Thassa, God of the Sea making creatures Unblockable.

you have got to remember, when playing mill you want to empty the opponents deck asap. meaning if they draw cards or discard them, its in your favor. if your concerned about then getting creatures out,. run Essence Scatter Counterspell Cancel pretty much anything like that. if you just wanna bounce and make their life hard while you mill them Void Snare Disperse Voyage's End AEtherize and AEtherspouts Time Ebb Churning Eddy . any of those combined with discard or mill are very powerful. i wouldnt be concerned about them drawing anything lifegain cause that doesnt matter.. creatures dont matter.. the only thing that wilol matter to you is getting them to draw/discard/mill every last card intheir deck.

also Invisible Stalker here seems very out of place. for your goal isnt to kill your opponent conventionally. id drop him and put in a Jace's Mindseeker even though (even myself) seldom get and instant or sorcery from the opponent. there is still that chance and he makes for good d and a flyer if things do get down to beating him to death.
August 8, 2014 11:14 a.m.
Well, the thing is, Invisible Stalker is quite useful. Pair him with Curiosity or Bident of Thassa and I get to draw. Or with Ring of Evos Isle and I can take an opponent out wonderfully (which I have). In the end, he's a good distraction and fun stick to poke people with. I use him a lot more than I did Jace's Mindseeker when I used to have it in the deck. I'm also not worried about "lifegain" but monsters have been known to be annoying (like my bro's white Angels). I do love AEtherspouts , so I'll keep an eye out for that card.

what i was getting at is without invis stalker taking up space in a mill deck, is you can easily get better card draw. you have 1 invis stalker and 1 curiosity and 1 bident. meaning for each card is a 1/60 chance to pull them and that is the making of inconsistency. you could easily swap those out for Archivist for safer creature card draw or something along those lines

Id take out the ring and the invisible stalker for twp more Hedron Crab
