Welcome to the Treasure Island of Death! Here you will dig for treasures, die for treasures and come back to life for more!
The main mechanic as you would have guessed, is to produce a ton of treasure tokens and use them to win. Using walls (Gleaming Barrier), removal (Contract Killing) and counters spells (Spell Swindle), you must delay your opponent until you amassed enough riches for the win.
Your main wincons are Revel in Riches and Antiquities War. In other words, you'll either win just by sitting on a huge pile of gold, or turn this pile into a wave of 5/5 golden artefact creatures an pummel your opponent to death. Karn, Scion of Urza and Deadeye Plunderers will both help in the pummelling departement, also taking advantage of your ever growing pile of loot.
As for the actual mining of the prized golden ressource, you will be using Treasure Map
, which will help beef up those pummellers, and you will make your creatures die either by blocking or sacrificing them. Pitiless Plunderer, Dire Fleet Hoarder and Gleaming Barrier, will make sure that most dying creatures gives you at least one treasure. And while March of the Drowned will bring them back from the dead for some more, Ruthless Knave, Vicious Offering and Trove of Temptation will garanty that they'll pay your graveyard a visit.
I included Vraska, Relic Seeker because every crew needs a captain! You might need to sacrifice a treasure to cast her, but it'll be worth it. She can get rid of a lot of things, while producing treasures and more pirates to walk off the plank. Not to mention, her ultimate is practicly an additional wincon.
The sideboard is mainly used for more control/removal and to speed things up a bit with card draw. This is a slow control/stomp deck, but don't forget that you can also use your treasures as mana ramps (don't spend too much arrrrrrrr!). This deck is post rotation legal. RIP Marionette Master and Mechanized Production. I plan to include cards from Guilds of Ravnica soon.
*If you would like to run a less expensive version of this deck, you could easily ommit the planeswalkers and the dual lands. Just put swamps, islands, an a couple of mountains/forests. This along with your treasures should do trick.
