It was in the deck IRL with panharmonicon which yes the interaction is great normally just not against energy

I see you removed the 2 glimmer and 2 Baral. I had just pulled them out tonight before FNM as well. The Barals were replaced by a 3rd spell swindle and 3rd torment. The 2 glimmers were replaced with 2 Opt instead. I didnt run the hostage taker after all.

What? No energy? This can't be. Surely, something must be wrong.
Love it, True brewer's masterpiece!

Revel in Riches should be in the deck.
I applaud not using energy and I agree with cr@bby that this is a brewers masterpiece.

TheLegendHomebrews8513 Thank you. The reason I built this deck was I wanted something fun, viable to play that could win, and wasn't energy or one of the top 3 decks everyone sees.
I don't run Revel in Riches because 10 treasures is a pain to deal with on a regular basis whereas 3-5 is all I need with Marionette Master or to feed a decent size Torment of Hailfire.
As is though the deck is going to be undergoing some major revision depending on A) what comes out in the new set. B) how the meta shifts and if I will swap things around to have Mainboard removals and such.
At this point Panharmonicon May be coming out of the deck to make some other stuff happen but not sure yet so stay tuned.

Have you thought about using Gonti, Lord of luxury?
December 29, 2017 12:48 p.m.
I have but I feel like he doesn't fit but its a viable option to run in here for sure.

Revel in Riches does seem a bit hard to get to. ive been trying to make it work without success. i feel like i need to mention the Ruthless Knave , dire fleet hoarder combo when it comes to treasures however. sack the hoarder for 3 treasures! its pretty need, and i feel like that combo along with treasure map is the only real way you can get to 10 treasures effectively. The problem is you will need some pretty epic control to protect that for that long. Marionette Master works amazing with servo, etherium, and treasure tokens though, and im totally in on that plan, and it seems like Panharmonicon can be really strong too. I just feel like racing for the treasures and control seem to wanna work against one another. Idk i cant make it work.

I'm gonna assemble this, but no Scarab God or Herald of Anguish around.

Wouldnt hurt then to stack up on some other wincon or more counters or maindeck removal

How do you feel about the new Angrath planeswalker? Would you include it in this deck?
January 2, 2018 10:38 a.m.
sg_86 So far no. He wouldn't seem to serve a significant purpose. And I like the new draw spell except for one big factor.... SORCERY SPEED. WTF. I like the 3 drop but as a sorcery I'd rather just play Chart a Course or something or just stick to cards like Opt and Glimmer of Genius

This deck ideally wants to play all my spells on your turn unless its a creature or treasure producing piece. right now my big look up for new cards is Vona's Hunger. I'd even probably take Kumena's Awekening over the new draw spell

sg_86 New leaks just dropped right now. But I am totally psyched about gleaming barrier.

What do you think of Pirate's pillage? It's draw and treasure production, and if you are going Grixis for storm the vault it fits your colors. Also, if you do go Grixis, what do you think of adding Captain Lannery Storm to go with storm the vault.

Also possibly adding the Locust God if you go Grixis.

I like pirate's pillage, Hornswoggle, and gleaming barrier right now. Definitely no locust god, scarab just fits better and oh yes lanery for sure

Hi there! Writing from Brazil here so sorry in advance for any gramatical errors and stuff... I play magic for many many years but only with my friends and in pre-releases and last christmans i decided to build a standard deck and try to win a FNM or a ranked tournament. Since i hate energy mechanics your deck was the light in the dark, and the way you described your wins conviced me to order all the cards online that i could not find in the local store.
I decided to invest in this deck before de RIX review as an investment in case card prices went skyhight... but now it all kinda changed hehe i can figure out you removed Torment and Disallow cuz both used 2 mana of the same collor but how is that RIX elder dinosaur a win condition? You have more treasure production now so why not go with torment since treasures give you the 2 black mana anyways?
The whole reason to go red announced was storm the vault that would flip quickly (even if u can't generate treasures with it) so... where is it?
Brass's bounty i think won't really work since it's 7 damn mana, suposing you play it on turn 5 using 2 treasures you end up generating only 3 treasures (5-2) and lose the whole turn... damn sorcery speed, spell swindle works much better even if u counter a 3 mana spell.
You are using only 2 of 2 cards (4 in total) on your main deck, to justify red in there should be at least 4 of each (8 in total)... or using storm the vault.
Ok there's also 4 red cards on sideboard but fatal push/battle on the bridge can do almost the same valor than the 4 dmg on and vraska's contempt can replace the desintegration thing for 1 more mana and it deals with badass gods.
So... do we really need those 4 red cards? if we do why not double each? I'm sorry if i'm wrong, i even have 4 captain Lanney Storm but i just don't understand it.
Thanks for the great list, the cards will arrive here tomorrow. I will report my results, and keep reading your updates.
Sorry for the long comment, here is a potato #potato

As is this is just early testing and why black dino over torment. Because board wipe without the choice to not do so more consistently and this is just testing for now till the storm the vault gets factored in. I may end up even going WUB with it for procession. Just feeling out what I like and what works and what doesn't so first build is a bit conservative. Later I'll get fancy wit it.

the dino seems OP as heck, but i dont think he fits in a control deck. At most his entry will kill 1 or 2 creatures, as you cant really allow 2 or 3 creatures onto the battlefield at one time as you will just end up dying to them. If you had something like authority of the consuls to slow down attacks while you prey creatures then maybe...but i doubt its worth allowing creatures to stay on the battlefield and hit you each turn just because you wanna board-wipe them 3 turns later. Once hes on the field, sure hes a 6/6 deathtouch, but i cant think of 1 reason a 6/6 would need deathtouch. I feel like that dino is for a more creature heavy deck where you can allow the opponent to have a few creatures on the field.

I read where you had explained that earlier. The question I have is- was hostage taker in before you had Panharmonicon? I know Pan wasnt here a couple months ago
