This combo revolves around the idea of using Tree of Perdition with Biomass Mutation or Wild Shape to reduce it's toughness, then swapping out the opponent's life total for a that low value, and finishing off with a "burn" spell like Sovereign's Bite or Sign in Blood.

While this combo is very jank and could easily be countered, I would like to bring it's level of consistency up, especially early on before the combo is set up. I have added Assualt Formation As a way to deal some combat damage as an alternative win condition to the combo.

One of the main problems I have found is that there is a lack of options on turn 2 for this deck. Ideally, Turn 1 you can begin to set up some ramp. Turn 3 you can spend getting the Tree out, and Turn 4 is spent executing the combo.

However, Turn 2 is still important, and yet I am missing out on a solid drop, a solid way to develop a board, or a solid way to even get the combo out faster.

Prosperous Innkeeper can be used. It's a good turn 2 option as it gives me extra mana for the next turn, but I can also play it on turn 2 even if I have no dorks out and just 2 lands. So, in essence, As long as I hit my land drops on each turn (at minimum), the Innkeeper will ensure the Tree comes out on turn 3. It gives effectively the same amount of value as dropping an extra mana dork on turn 2 in the short term, but situationally for this deck it has incredible value turn 2.

While not as situational, a better option if the game isn't looking like it's going to end turn 4 is Sylvan Caryatid. This has a better effect on the boardstate in general, and while it doesn't have the same speed as the Innkeeper, it is leagues more efficient.
