I probably would keep the landbase at 22, but take off 2 Forests and one of each burn lands for 4x Marsh Flats to get either burns. And depending if I need the black sideboard spells I would just swap between either 3x Temple Garden and 1x Overgrown Tomb or the other way around, and Marsh Flats since all I really need to fetch are the splash colors. But my experience with fetchlands is REALLY limited, so I don't know maybe I would drop the base to 20 and put both Tower Defenses in the main.. I'd really have to test it out before making reliable suggestions :D

Marsh Flats actually does not work for you. Keep in mind that Stomping Ground, Windswept Heath, Misty Rainforest, or Verdant Catacombs can fetch any land in the deck. All of your other lands are forest, so any fetchland which can fetch a forest will fetch whatever you want, including Murmuring Bosk. Plus, Marsh Flats is expensive compared to Stomping grounds or Windswept Heath. Roughly $45 would get you 4x fetchlands to work with this deck, and another $55 would get you 4x more. In fact, because Murmuring Bosk fixes all colors you need, you would not need the Overgrown Tomb or Temple Garden at all, though the option to let them enter the battlefield tapped could prove to be useful.

You probably meant Wooded Foothills instead of Stomping Ground but I get your point, removing the burns entirely might be good, and adding 4x4 cheapest fetches that fetch forest, which would be 4x Windswept Heath and 4x Wooded Foothills. They cost a ton for mtgo too so I don't know if I can playtest them anytime soon, but I will put them on my orderlist. Thanks for your thoughts!

Loved the deck! I was playing solitaire with it, and having great fun, although I always seemed to struggle against aggro decks, especially if they had removal for Bosk Banneret on turn two. Have you considered Nameless Inversion? You can tutor for it with Harbinger, and it would really help against fast decks, because leaving 2-3 mana up for Crib Swap is sometimes a big ask.

have you tried Rootgrapple ? maybe as a 2 of on your sideboard? or mainboard?
it definitely works wonders for me, you should give it a shot. The 5 mana might frighten you but trust me, most of the time you will cast it for free or for 3 mana.
this card not only sets back your opponent one turn by popping one of their lands (which is mainly what I go for unless there is a planeswalker in the battlefield that is more threatening) and grants you a free card draw.....this card is amazing

Surprised not to see Wickerbough Elder in the sideboard, nor Maelstrom Pulse, Zealous Persecution or Leyline of Sanctity

how have your match ups been in the current modern meta? what are some good match ups and the ones that you really had troubles with?

@GardeNoir I'm pretty sure this is still considered a budget build so many of those cards would spike the deck price substantially.

@ArchflineMy bad, I didn't see anything that said budget. You know what they say about assumptions.

This deck goes on ice for a while, since only Standard and Draft are playable in the upcoming nationals... :/

Hello Naksu
I netdecked your list since I always wanted to play a Treefolk deck and I liked it so far. The only thing I would take away are the Thorn of Amethys, but that's only because I think it's more of a side card and in my meta there aren't many decks where the card would be helpful (hence why I think it's more of a side card). What I found out is that the sooner I could put Leaf-Crowned Elder on board, the better my chances were to win, since it speeds up the deck nicely and allows you to play multiple monsters at the same time. I stumbled upon this entchantment: Descendants' Path It basically has the same effect, but is an entchantment and can be played by turn 3. Now if you were to have a land on top, Leaf-Crowned Elder would just leave it there, thus making multiples redundant (same applies with Sapling of Colfenor once you know that on top is a Land), but with Descendants' Path, if it's a land card, you can put it on the bottom, to give Leaf-Crowned Elder a better chance at hitting something.I bought 2 of them and I'm gonna test them out, just wanted to know if you were aware of the card, if you already tested it and what you think about it.
Greetings from Switzerland

Thrun, the Last Troll. Can't be countered and its a shaman to boot!

Anthos22: Thanks and hope it's been kicking butt for you! Thorn of Amethyst is amazing here (Leaf-Crowned Elder allows free cast for Crib Swap), but it's ofcourse an opinion and it might not work for you. Or if I'm facing other creature heavy decks, I side them away. As for Descendants' Path, I was suggested the card before, but couldn't really find room for it. The Elder does the job good enough already, and if I find room for enchantments, I really want to put in Primal Rage. But I understand your point and I do suggest to try them.
luke1: I'm playing with nickname Naksu at mtgo, throw me a request and I'll play with the folk :)
Semajss: That could be a really cool herder for the forest, but the synergies among treefolk specifically is so strong that I don't think I can find use for it :( Thanks for the suggestion though!

Nice Deck, I like the way crib swap works well with your Bosk Banneret. Very cool idea!

xath Thanks, but it's been built with the community so can't take all credit! :) But yes it does, a target removal that synergises with so many things in the deck is insane here.

HairyManBack: Then you might understand my excitement, getting to play this whenever ;D

Look at ArchFline's Bastion Defense:Turn 3 Win? for ideas. Your guys builds are very similar

Mr_Sausage: We've conversed before on this decks wall too. And yeah, that's a really sweet brew too but with a bit different approach. I've thought about Assault Formation as a secondary Doran, but it didn't perform as well as I thought it would, big minus not being a creature. ArchFline is a good deck builder so I suggest anyone to check any of his builds :)

100th! Congrats! I really like this build and might even buy it.

Naksu, thanks for the response. Really, you are the pilot of this deck, so you know the ins and outs of how it works. I have full sets of all of the fetchlands, and if I built this, I would use them. Thus, as the pilot, I am wondering....IF you had whatever cards you wanted for the mana base, what do you think you would do?
