Lord of the Unreal was not a bad idea! However, I'm a bit more unsure about Call to the Kindred as well as Leaf-Crowned Elder . Sure, they get me free cards, but only the changelings, which are cheap to begin with (except Cairn Wanderer). On the other side, they don't give boost to the changelings either, neither as they bring the captains.

I like Blades of Velis Vel , but they are just an instant. Have you thought about Runed Stalactite ? The Stalactite on the Lord of the Unreal for instance would give him +1/+1 and hexproof for being an illusion AND +1/+1 from the Stalactite itself on top of that.

I've seen Runed Stalactite before, but thought it was unneccesary.. but come to think it's awesome equipped on the captains, and especially the newly added Lord of the Unreal .
Thanks for suggestion!

No problem! I would LOVE to run this myself in real life with my group, but all the lands put it out of my price range :(

I don't really have this deck IRL either, simply because it would be too expensive with lands.. however, I'm wondering if I shall make a cheaper version that doesn't need as many duel-lands to work, but based upon the idea with changelings and captains :3
This goes for several of my decks, I own very few of them, but I happily create them anyway because of the fun of it! :)

Yeah, I compromised on my deck. For instance, Mutavault get's about $40 over here! Depends how much risk you wanna take. In my deck A Hard Pil(i-Pala) to Swallow, I would love to run 4x Watery Grave and 4x Drowned Catacomb , but I settled for the much cheaper Sunken Ruins and Reflecting Pool . City of Brass is an option as well.

The deck works? Kinda. I think you could defo improve the mana base (Basics and fetches and shocks would help a lot) and I think you could tighten up the creature base.
I might even suggest redoing it a WUR. This gives you Tauren Changling, Wings and other stuff, then going for the Merfolk and Illusion lords too.
February 11, 2013 10:47 a.m.
Well, Taurean Mauler might be added as the deck is without too much hassle. When mentioning wings and captains, I'm kinda amused because that stuff is allready either mainboarded or maybeboarded, bar the Merfolk captains.. (not needed)
I've consindered adding white instead of another color before, but dropped it because of the fact that the white changelings are more expensive, and the really good ones needs to champion a creature.

If using a lot of colours, you could consider Chromatic Lantern . It can tap for 1 mana of any colour, but also enables your lands to tap for any colour, whether it is an island or swamp or whatever, so you get a lot more versatility. If you included some Evolving Wilds for instance, you can sacrifice them to fetch any lands BUT if the lantern was already out, they could also tap for any colour themselves, as the lantern affects all lands.

Guess I might add a couple to see, but I really don't think mana is a big problem in this deck due to the dual-lands coming untapped due to changelings. Only reason I consinder it is because of the extra mana, in addition to fixing niches in mana-base.

This deck is just amazing. I love changelings and made my own decks based around them, but this deck here is just great. I only have to suggest: card:Descendants' Path and Call to the Kindred to push some more changelings faster and faster!
Oh, and maybe Reaper King . He's mostly used as a Commander, but with his "Vindicate on a stick" ability he's a monster!
February 21, 2013 6:31 p.m.
Don't really like Call to the Kindred, think it's to easy to remove, as well a little bit expensive as the changelings aren't way too costy. However, Descendants' Path can be an alternative. But since there are quite some other creatures than changelings as well (which in fact may be more important), I'm not sure if it's way to smart to include it, but can be consindered.
Reaper King.. aye, seen it and probably glanced it due to 5-color cost. On second thought, I can get it out for either 6 mana, or 5 mana with chromatic, so after taking another look it's well worth it indeed! I'll see if I can fit it in, thanks for suggestions. ;)

Hmmm... Sliver Legion ?
With the changelings you can run whatever creature type you want.

So basically a bodied Coat of Arms , eh?
Damn, the choices are getting many now, this one also deserve a spot amongst the changelings ._.

It looks pretty cool, thoughts on Sliver Hive or that new ally land? I think you could also run Diffusion Sliver because it's easier to cast than Lord of the Unreal (While he's amazing he is double blue)

call to the kindred is possibly one of the most broken cars ever to put in a changling deck... give it a look

This deck is really cool and creative. i never would have thought of using slivers to boost the changlings!

I really like the idea, especially with Sarkhan's finisher!
Have you thought about Lord of the Unreal to grant the changelings hexproof? Or maybe Call to the Kindred enchanted on a changeling would be fun!
