I have a soldier deck and one of my favorite soldiers is Deftblade Elite and I used Veteran Armorer instead of Veteran Armorsmith

Deftblade Elite is pretty good, but what would i take out?i'll keep Veteran Armorsmith because the toughness is lower. i'm running mono white so the mana cost won't be a problem and all my other creatures are so soldiers anyway. thanks for the suggestion(:

I'm a fan of Catapult Squad and Catapult Master in my soldier deck, but not sure it fits in with this deck.

i don't think they would fit in this deck because its more about rushing and tapping soldiers wastes too much time when i could be finishing an opponent. thanks for the suggestion though =)

what do you think I should take out for 2 Darien, King of Kjeldor

I'm going to suggest you look at my soldier deck Military Might For ideas. It looks really similar. Rushing is key to this style of soldier deck so running low cost drops is nice. As well as trying to find more +1/+1 bonuses. Elite VanguardMTG Card: Elite Vanguard is nice with Field MarshalMTG Card: Field Marshal

Benalish CommanderMTG Card: Benalish Commander is an excellent sub for Darien.

but Benalish CommanderMTG Card: Benalish Commander comes in late and I want to attack soon. Besides it takes a lot of mana. Darien threatens opponents so they will be hesitant to deal damage

what should I take out for 2 dariens?

Hero of BladeholdMTG Card: Hero of Bladehold? Its not a soldier but the 2 tokens are and battle cry is boss. Give a look at deck:stalking-secrets if you got a sec. Nice deck though. Otherwise the thing that fetches you 2, 1 drops. IDK how it would work but its an idea.

I think battle cry is not as good as the + abilities. Thanks for the comment! Remember to +1 if you like it.

Nice deck. I like the Sun TitanMTG Card: Sun Titan. I also love that you've pretty much gone mono creatures and dropped Thalia, Guardian of ThrabenMTG Card: Thalia, Guardian of Thraben.

I'd be willing to drop out all your Veteran ArmorsmithMTG Card: Veteran Armorsmith. If you're only attacking, what good are they? I'd rather have a buff on the front side. Maybe a Darien, King of KjeldorMTG Card: Darien, King of Kjeldor or two instead. And check out Benalish CommanderMTG Card: Benalish Commander again. You can cast him for four as well, and he'd be an x/x where x is your soldier number (usually 5-10 in my deck) and he'd get buffed as a soldier. And heck, if you're already beating face, cast him for 3, he drops a soldier token and then comes into play swinging for that much more.

thanks for spending your time to comment but here's why i keep my Veteran ArmorsmithMTG Card: Veteran Armorsmith. its a two drop and i don't have many of them. the +0/+1 makes sure i can attack safely without my creatures dying because i may not kill the opponent with one hit. it also ensures that my Palace GuardMTG Card: Palace Guard can block more creatures and not dye. i have thought about adding both Darien, King of KjeldorMTG Card: Darien, King of Kjeldor and Benalish CommanderMTG Card: Benalish Commander but they are a bit too slow. thanks once again though.

should i add in Flagstones of TrokairMTG Card: Flagstones of Trokair?

How often do you play land destroy? Flagstones of TrokairMTG Card: Flagstones of Trokair would be no different than a plains if you don't see any land destroy.

Also, have you thought about the Palace GuardMTG Card: Palace Guard - IndestructibilityMTG Card: Indestructibility combo? Odd flavor for the deck, but can buy serious time against non trample decks.

Also, as far as two drops. Thraben ValiantMTG Card: Thraben Valiant?

May 7, 2012 2:15 a.m.

tempest says... #15

well, if i play two of them, both Flagstones of TrokairMTG Card: Flagstones of Trokair would be destroyed and i would search my library for two plains so i filter my deck of lands. but they come in tapped so it could work against me. what do you think?

i want to keep this more creature based so i don't want IndestructibilityMTG Card: Indestructibility and my friends run Tragic SlipMTG Card: Tragic Slip now. the idea seemed really good and i was about to put it in and then i thought about it and decided against it.

Captain of the WatchMTG Card: Captain of the Watch already gives my creatures vigilance and i wouldn't know what to take out for the Thraben ValiantMTG Card: Thraben Valiant.

You can't just destroy Flagstones of TrokairMTG Card: Flagstones of Trokair on a whim. So unless you can get your opponent to destroy them for you, they just sit there pretending to be plains.

And I'm personally against the idea of filtering the deck of lands. I'd much rather have all 60 cards do something for me. But I may very well be alone in that thought. In that respect, Evolving WildsMTG Card: Evolving Wilds, Terramorphic ExpanseMTG Card: Terramorphic Expanse, Bant PanoramaMTG Card: Bant Panorama will add plenty of fake lands to your deck to "thin" it.

because Flagstones of TrokairMTG Card: Flagstones of Trokair is a legendary land so if there are to, they destroy each other. like to of the same planeswalkers

Oh... That's an interesting idea. I hadn't really looked at it like that.

Hey thanks for the link to the deck, very solid. some of the cards are out of my price limit but I've got some stuff to think over now. Thanks again.

Before I suggest anything, I would like to say that this deck is amazingly awesome.

I don't like the planeswalkers in here. I would go: -1 Elspeth, Knight-Errant -1 Gideon Jura -1 Palace Guard -2 Veteran Armorsmith -2 Thalia, Guardian of Thraben +4 Honor of the Pure +3 Oblivion Ring . +1 for sure!

i'll go -2 Thalia, Guardian of Thraben for +2 Honor of the Pure . i'll sideboard Oblivion Ring for major threats. i feel like my deck is fast enough and strong enough to take on a lot of decks. thanks again for the format =]

just realized that oblivion ring was already in my sideboard. haha! =]

I've Made some changes as you probably saw. So, I wanted to ask you guys what think about it. :) basically, feedback. I took out Thalia, Guardian of Thraben and Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite . Think I should put them back in? The changes have improved my mana curve a lot though... Anyways, i'd greatly appreciate some feedback =]
