I still think Infiltration Lens is your best choice. It doesn't give a pump but it gives your opponent a do or die choice. Let you draw 2 and potentially give you 2 more things to play on 2nd main or do they take the damage and be set farther behind.
Skullclamp would be better in a lot of ways but it's kinda pricey and all your stuff is X/1 until it gets pumped so it may not be a better option.

This is the second of your tribal decks I've seen. Great job, I like what you are doing. Though I do have to say I agree with TrumpetsforKings in regard to Ballyrush Banneret. Not only would he help your mana curve out, but I think he'd allow you to build up speed because even though this is a white soldier deck it's can't be called weenie.. It has potential to decrease the cost of @ 50% of your creatures (18/34=9/17=@1/2). Just my opinion. Anyway I'm looking forward to your other decks as well- if what I've seen so far is any indication, I'm sure I'll be impressed! :) +1 from me.

Also, the chance of hitting three of 4 Champions is entirely too low. There's a card that exists called path to exile that shuts down creatures. Another thing that benefits you with BAllyrush is the fac that allows you to virtually never be mana screwed. Good luck playing your deck with 2 mana. I'm perfectly content to laugh at you while I Knight-Captain your full swing and counter swing to death.

that was hypothetical and its possible just not very. please dont result to insults like zandl and some other users on this site do please.
anyways, i never get mana screwed when i play this deck in real life. i always get 3 lands at least so i can play Preeminent Captain for Captain of the Watch. after i get 3 lands, ballyrush only decreases the cost of Captain of the Watch. something i will playtest and see though. thanks for your time!

I don't believe I insulted you. If I did, I'm sorry. And mana deficits happen to everyone. but having cards to tutor out your creatures before they could actually be played on turn 2. Turn 1 windbrisk turn ballyrush and plains turn 3 preeminent. turn 4 field marshal and honor of the pure, preeminent swing to play captain of the watch that 10 first strike turn 4. Next turn second honor, raise the alarm, maybe another field Marshal, and stil enough mana to play Rootborn Defenses and swing for lethal with vigilance, first strike and indestructible, while adding another token.

Do you think it's worth it since he's a kithkin and doesn't have synergy with Champion of the Parish?

Boros Elite over Elite Vanguard because you have Preeminent Captain

Preeminent Captain 's ability doesn't trigger Boros Elite 's battalion. It pits the elite onto the battlefield tapped and attacking which means I never declared it an attacker. If it were like you thought it was, then I would love to play a preeminent, attack, put another preeminent and use that ones ability to put another preeminent into play, and use that one to play odric and kill of their creatures

Also why Exalted works with Geist of Saint Traft :P
April 11, 2013 10:21 a.m.
i honestly don't think its a necessary part of this deck. Preeminent Captain gets my bigger creatures out, and i already have quite a few lower costing creatures to keep swinging at them and keeping them busy until i drop enough lands to hard cast my more expensive creatures. besides, i only have 4 Captain of the Watch

rootborn defences would be nice to sideboard in against any wrath you happen to stumble into.
April 23, 2013 4:17 a.m.
thanks for bringing that up. but instead of Rootborn Defenses , i'm going to use Eldrazi Temple . tell what you like about the changes :)
April 23, 2013 4:23 a.m.
You mean Eldrazi Monument ?
Nice pick, provided you can keep up token production.
April 23, 2013 4:27 a.m.
I'd most certainly replace the Veteran Swordsmith 's with Daru Warchief 's (which are human, by the way).
April 23, 2013 5:56 a.m.
You should take a look at my tribal soldiers deck and see if you like the idea behind it. Soldier Enlistment was my first pride and joy after getting back into magic; it doesn't see much play anymore, but it's certainly capable of holding its own. Because of the composition of the deck, It doesn't happen too often, but occasionally it can stall out until turn 5 or 6--however, most often it simply wrecks the opponent.

i was aiming for 3 cmc and lower for Sun Titan but now that you've brought up its human subtype, it's going in. thanks! i'll check out your deck now
+1 anybody?
April 23, 2013 9:38 a.m.
i'll probably be trying some new changes, so i wanted to ask you guys what you think of adding red to this deck?

Maybe take out 4 Veteran Armorsmith and replace them with 4 Fiend Hunter he's removal and can be brought back with Sun Titan too. Also maybe Akroma's Memorial would be better than Eldrazi Monument because Elspeth, Knight-Errant makes your stuff indestructible without causing you to sacrifice creatures.
June 8, 2013 7:49 p.m.
no. the armorsmiths allow me to swing with Elite Vanguard with less opposition on turn 2. it may seem small, but it make a difference. also, Fiend Hunter is not a soldier so thats like an auto not include. elspeth may never make it to her ultimate...

No Raise the Alarm ? turn 1 Champion, turn 2 RtA, turn 3 Field marshal, swing for large damage, or have a sizeable army turn 3
tempest says... #1
I believe that this deck is faster than yours. No offense intended. did you read the reson for me not using Honor of the Pure ? 1 drops do only go so far but they can create a crucial advantage early game. Lets say turn 1 you play Windbrisk Heights and pass. I play plains and Champion of the Parish and pass. Now turn 2 you play plains and Honor of the Pure . I play plains and 2 Champion of the Parish and swing for 3. Turn 3 you play plains and 2 Ballyrush Banneret and pass. Then I play plains and Field Marshal swinging for 12 first strike damage. You block and lose the chane of playing your big creatures or you take and struggle to survive with 5 life left...
The goal of this deck is to pump creatures every turn while attacking with continually growing creatures. It attacks strong and fast from the very beginning. It outran my brother's goblin elf and sliver deck. Ballyrush Banneret and Windbrisk Heights are too much late game cards. If it really comes to that, I will use Emeria, The Sky Ruin to spam tokens with Captain of the Watch and Sun Titan to return my smaller creatures. Also, I run one of each planeswalker so I never have to worry about the planeswalker rule. Both of them work out pretty nicely.
Any suggestions to the questions asked in the description?
