@ peru_soldi I haven't played EDH Tribal but I have played several Singleton 60 & 100 Tribal matches online and love it. I think I enjoyed playing goblins the most in Singleton but I imagine if I were to change one of my old Singleton Tribal decks for EDH soldiers would be the way to go.

... solkanarswampking- you could have told him that on his deck...

Actually, Daru Warchief is errata'd, so now he's a Human Soldier, so he'll set off your Champion. But yeah, he is a touch expensive.

I play soldiers too and I have found finding room for 2 Endless Horizons have been great to stop dead land draws mid-late game. Again in my group meta games no one runs land destruct ions and many run board wipes. Just my 2 cents.

just 1 more .. not even sure if you still play this deck but Brimaz, King of Oreskos is ma monster.

Nick_V- thanks for commenting. both are amazing. i'll add them in, but what should i take out?
July 12, 2014 12:11 a.m.
I also use Elspeth, Sun's Champion as far as what to take out that would depend on your meta. I personally do not use Veteran Swordsmith or Veteran Armorsmith but they wont work for me and they might for you. Like you said earlier you play an early game, my soldiers are a tad bit slower then yours but do fairly well mid game (i play this deck in grp games with friends). Another fun card to try out is Launch the Fleet when you have all your buffs going this lets you drop a nasty surprise especially when Odric, Master Tactician is controlling the blocking.
Sorry I couldnt help more but only trial and error can tell you what to drop :D

I created my own tribal Solider deck after I looked at this deck. I took a lot of of your ideas and put some of my own in to make it what it is now. You should check it out. I would love to hear your opinions.
What i think is lacking is there are not enough spells to remove creatures or stop them. I know the point is to put out creatures fast and take them down quick, but i added more things like that to my deck and it has saved my ass a quite a few times. Other then that I love this deck. Extremely well done.

You need some removal. Recommendations for the deck are Path to Exile , Raise the Alarm , Loyal Sentry , and Ballyrush Banneret . The path is an excellent control strategy. Raise the alarm is hands down the best token creation in the game of magic, and at instant speed is made even better. Ballyrush, although not a human, is amazing for pumping out soldiers. Also, last recommendation: the sentry is one of the best blockers ever. Can kill emrakul lol.

Wabbbit- what about removing Soldier of the Pantheon for Path to Exile/Swords to Plowshares?
July 25, 2015 12:16 a.m.
That sounds good, although you don't have any other one drop 2/1's except Gideon as a one of.

TribalGuy2005- I agree. But I need this deck to be fast to compete with the decks I play against. Thanks for the suggestion though!

tempest- Ahh. Yeah I'm trying to build a tribal white soldier deck. The problem I'm having is I like Field Marshal and Captain of the Watch but then my guys run out gas pretty quick with no card draw outlet. I tried Mentor of the Meek but by the time I usually get him my tokens are too big because of lord buffs. I trying out Enlistment Officer right now and his hit and miss.

TribalGuy2005- yeah. That was the problem I had with the deck so I cut out Veteran Swordsmith, Veteran Armorsmith, and Field Marshal for the allies and brimaz/mentor of the meek. These changes gave me a slightly weaker start but allows me to keep up the pressure. But if you need that strong early burst you might want to use those lords and use Path to Exile instead and maybe use Elite Vanguard along with Soldier of the Pantheon. Could also consider Kytheon, Hero of Akros Flip. There are so many possibilities. You just gotta mix and match until you find the best one for your meta

And Honor of the Pure, Adaptive Automaton, and Raise the Alarm lol. Here. I got this link for you. It helped me out a lot but it only goes up to a certain set and doesn't have the most recent soldiers (like Soldier of the Pantheon). If you link your deck, I'd be happy to give you suggestions

tempest I would link it but every time I build one I don't really care for it and start over from scratch lol. I have other tribal decks on my profile, the only one I'm not too sure of is my zombie due to the fact I never really played zombies and it's a different build then the one my friend use to play.

Lower your curve if your aggro curve off at Odric then work from there cause then you dont have a bad 3 drop that is there for captain of the watch and it makes it easier on your mentor. Just a Thought and swords is bad in aggro i would use path over it my opinion cause i have something similar to this myself
August 2, 2015 11:42 p.m.
Berenike- so you're saying i should take out the Preeminent Captain and Captain of the Watch? and swords to path change made

@ Tempest in edh you can have all of those guys in and make a kick ass deck... for example i have a zombie tribal, check it out so that you have an idea... I need brains! I have an Army to feed!
i also have pauper edh for tribal soldiers Puny army... Attack!
it is a lot of fun and there are a lot more interactions between all the "members" of the tribe!
