Check the privacy settings on the decks then. Edit the decks and check to see if the box marked "private" is checked. If so uncheck it and try again

Ok. This is the deck I made and the deck that I couldn't beat! I have over 20+ decks, and none of them can consistently beat it:

“Counter Measures” (Soldier Tribe)vs.Merefolk (Playtest to Win)

I think I have a low enough curve to not need it

just curious how helpful is cavern of souls for your deck? I just cant see how its worth it considering its price.

if you have a budget, definitely do not include it. I don't even own cavern of souls. it's in there just cuz it doesn't really take away from the deck but can be extremely useful against control decks.

This plays much more like a Human tribal deck, which is unfortunate. Cavern of Souls is the only card that benefits Soldiers. I understand that it can't really be helped, as the other bonuses for Soldiers are either manufactured (i.e. Radiant Destiny) or are just plain terrible (Veteran Swordsmith). Captain of the Watch is great, but a 6-drop bonus is too much.

I hope that with the hinting in Core Set 2020 that one of the next four sets will include something to benefit this tribe more than a three drop that can't even raise toughness. As for the rest of the deck, it appears really cohesive. Too expensive for my tastes, though. I barely make it above $50 decks.

Oh, I forgot about Field Marshal . Why not use that?

Skullblade248 - yeah you kinda pointed out the problem with the deck. it started as soldiers with Field Marshal , Captain of the Watch , Preeminent Captain , etc. but kinda morphed into this human soldier thing that i didn't want to sort out/deal with since i stopped playing mtg

also, if you opt not to buy the 3 Cavern of Souls , this deck is about $50. if you end up buying this deck, have fun with it :) or if you want to create a real soldier tribal deck, let me know and i'll take a look at the decklist

Ok, thanks for the advice. I'm currently testing one with Odric, Lunarch Marshal , but the problem is the deck tries to go in three different directions that don't tie into one another. (Most likely my execution of such an idea) The first is a +1/+1 counter strategy that capitalizes on Mentor and some of the old Abzan cards. The second is a keyword-heavy style deck with Swiftblade Vindicator and Gideon, Martial Paragon to strengthen the board. The third is a wide token strategy that uses cards like Haazda Marshal and Heroic Reinforcements . I had hoped that it would result in an army of super buff Soldiers, but Odric appeared too frequently and often to little to no effect on the board, and with only a few ways to build up power and toughness, the deck got picked apart when I brought it to FNM.

I am developing a new list, and once I have it sorted out in about a week or two, I would definitely appreciate you taking a look at it to see what works and what doesn't.

Well, after ordering some cards and playtesting, I came up with this for you to examine. Again, I would appreciate your input.
