Version 2.1 : Eldritch MoonPlease vote for this deck!Tribes' Syndicate : A Werewolf Deck
This deck is a tribute to Team Pavlov, that inspired my werewolf deck of the first Innistrad. It performed amazingly well, with all the cards in the main deck to survive and perform Game 1 against Aggro, Control and Midrange. I won so many FNM with it (or top 3), to the surprise and frustration of my store's community. I only wish Tribes' Syndicate can give me as much fun and satisfaction!
A gothic/cosmic horror story
Madness is plaguing Innistrad with the cosmic infestation of the Eldrazi. But horror is bread and butter for the lycans of the Five Tribes. The mobsters seized the opportunity of chaos to unite the Tribes under one single Syndicate, offering their precious protection to the people of the land... for a fee. Whether the Syndicate is protecting the helpless from the alien invasion or from their own members is still unsure. But the racket is profitable, and the lupines are savoring their power over the mortals, conspiring and intimidating their way back to the top of the political hierarchy. Soon, they will regain what was once lost : the mayorship of Avabruk...
Featuring...
The Racketeer Show
"You're safe with us, trust me."The mob's fixer, a.k.a. the Duskwatch Recruiter
.Duskwatch Recruiter
: The Syndicate's fixer doesn't share his territory, and you get no benefit from a 2nd Duskwatch Recruiter
. But he produces a steady stream of income from the protection racket. If you have extra mana but no instant/flash in hand, use his dayside ability to draw and cast another creature on your turn.
Krallenhorde Howler
: At night, the Racketeer calls the gang to keep the villagers in check. Abuse his ability to vomit your creatures on the battlefield against Aggro to gain board presence. Against Control, a single creature at a reduced cost is enough to save your mana for a precious instant/flash that could save the night. Note that two
Krallenhorde Howler
's abilities stack to cast your 3cmc for only one mana.
The Intimidator Show
"No escort? Your purse and oldest daughter, please."The client-maker, a.k.a. the
Geier Reach Bandit
Geier Reach Bandit
: Spreading fear on the roads is the Intimidator's job. She strikes fast with Haste, and may prefer her dayside for that purpose if she ETB on a
Vildin-Pack Alpha
(as she loses Haste when she flips).
The gang's mad dog Show
"Something is wrong with the Moon."- The godfather, looking at his warped
Kessig Prowler
.
Kessig Prowler
: With so many instants, Tribes' Syndicate usually skips the first main phase to mess with opponent's mind. Attacking with the Syndicate's mad dog and 5 untapped mana is another way to do so. Don't forget to flip him if he ETB on a
Vildin-Pack Alpha
.
Sinuous Predator
: You can flip
Kessig Prowler
before blockers are declared to prevent a gang block. Having played no spell, flip the mobsters.
(More gameplays to come...)
Lycanthropy
With more than 20 instant speed options, Tribes' Syndicate usually transforms by skipping turn 4 :
The Gang's Weapons
Dromoka's Command :
Lambholt Pacifist
is the prime target for a +1/+1 counter. Not only does it encourages her into action, but once flipped or under Howlpack Resurgence's influence, she's out reach of Languish, Grasp of Darkness and
Exquisite Firecraft
.
The Syndicate's notorious foul tricks
Krallenhorde Howler
+
Spirit of the Hunt
: Keep 2 untapped land to cast the spirit at instant speed. Opponent will never see it coming, curse you and Tribes' Syndicate, and watch helplessly his creatures getting gang fouled by the whole pack. Usefull on both attack or defense.
Silverfur Partisan + Dromoka's Command : Target 2 different members of Tribes' Syndicate with the Command to spawn 2 Wolf Tokens 2/2 at instant speed. This can seriously repel an attack, and set you up to win next turn.
(More tricks to come...)
This deck is good because it's resilient. It's not designed to win fast (even if you can win T4 if opponent does nothing), but to survive both Aggro and Control, and then win.
All theory for now, but I'm eager to test out this deck when Eldrith Moon is released.
