I put this deck up on the shelf for a while but I think it's time to give it some air.
The deck is basically designed to punish every deck in the format for using cheap mana-efficient cards by making them cost a minimum of three with trinisphere. At first this seems like a weak strategy, but the combination of trinisphere and land destruction cards can completely lock an opponent out of the game on turn two, all while advancing your own board state and finishing them with kessig wolf-run, Ajani Vengeant, Koth or Thrun.
The number of one drop mana accelerants is higher than most ramp decks would include, because a turn two trinisphere or LD spell can nearly end the game on turn two. This amount allows that to happen consistently (90-95 per cent of the time) on the opening hand, and almost certainly after a mulligan.
After turn two, you have the opportunity to continue destroying lands, advance your board-state, or ramp. All three routes are viable and also quite powerful. More LD means the control role becomes yours and the plan was not to use your fist two turns to simply get ahead, but to lock you opponent out of casting spells. Slamming a turn three Thrun, Ajani, Koth, or KotR. while your opponent has one or fewer lands in play, or a Trinisphere is resolved can be a huge beating and being three turns ahead of your opponent is a race few decks will be able to win. The inclusion of fireball effects like Kessig Wolf-run and Bonfire make drawing a ton of ramp a lot less painful and killing your opponent with an X/1 Birds of Paradise is always good fun.
Boom//Bust is a new addition to the deck that works quite well with KotR and is also great with fetchlands (Target the fetchland, tap-sac in response, so you don't lose a land.) Destroying all lands is a seldom used mode, but if you've landed a Thrun or giant KotR into an otherwise empty board, it's nice to have as an "I-Win-Button"
The real Achilles heel of this deck is Affinity and affinity style decks. These decks can cheat mana and creatures into play so quickly that the advantage you get from the ramp+LD effect is too little too late and the darksteel citidel into triple memnite draws can just own you. That's why the sideboard is packed with artifact hate, which conveniently helps against Melira-Pod decks and splinter-twin as well.
The Deck is hella fun to play with and definitely shows some promise, I'd really like to see another Utopia sprawl type effect printed to make the deck stronger, but for the time being, land screwing your opponent every game is still easy enough..
