Breaking Point and Mizzium Mortars for creature removal are my favs, Bonfire of the Damned is great, but every time I ran it If I had more than one in my deck I almost never got to play it, due to its ridiculous casting cost, besides its really meant to play as a miracle card. Good deck. I would drop Grim Lavamancer for Chandra's Spitfire and Blistercoil Weird for Guttersnipe but thats just me. +1

Bozak you do see that Blistercoil Weird is the whole point of the deck right?

Yea, but i just think is a super weak card without Paradise Mantle . By the time you actually pump it someone can just wreck it with removal very quickly.

Oh yea, Pyroclasm is another great one.

That's what he's doing with Dual Casting .

Yea but Dual Casting costs mana to activate, My friend does this combo with Mortus Strider and Undercity Informer And I use Call of the Nightwing to active mine, Long story short my friend actually prefers paying 3 mana each upkeep to activate abilities of his creatures. Why? I cipher a Call of the Nightwing onto my Invisible Stalker and have sacrificial creatures on tap. Pay mana once and allocate it to other things. Point being, Ive seen a 24/24 Blistercoil Weird on 2nd turn. Thats breaking the game lol.

Then again, its your deck at the end of the day, everyone plays how they choose that's the beauty of the game, sorry if I came off a hubris. It really is a great deck the way it is.

Why not....Paradise Mantle into a Lightning Bolt Untap your blister put his counter on, Tap him for one red mana Cast the copy of the spell, untap him put his one one counter on him. Then tap to cast another spell and repeat it all over again as long as you have mana. You can then technically burn until you run out of mana to drop Lava Spike and Lightning Bolt I mean really.......Turn 3........Six Lightning Bolt casts (18 dmg potential) lolol.......GROSS! lololol

That doesn't work, Bozak. You copy the spell with an activated ability. You do not cast that copy.

You cannot triple cast with Blistercoil Weird and Dual Casting.

The first copy that you create with Dual Casting is not cast, so Blistercoil Weird doesn't untap for you to cast the spell again.

Cast spell, Blistercoil Weird 's trigger goes on the stack, respond to the trigger with the copy, let copy resolve, let trigger resolve, in response to the original spell copy again.

What noises said.

Also, I'd personally recommend Searing Spear , Pillar of Flame , or Brimstone Volley instead of Thunderous Wrath . A mulligan can be brutal and may end up making you mulligan again, and if you mulligan just for starting with a card that you have four of in the deck, then it's a bad idea to use it. Also, the Pillar of Flame can exile things that it kills.

Even better, take out Thunderous Wrath and put in Browbeat . Sure, it's a choice that they make, but it's either a ton of damage swinging their way, or plenty of card advantage. Or it's likely both. They'll take some damage to keep you drawing cards, but then let you draw just a few cards to stay alive enough to respond. Normally a decent card, when you triple cast Browbeat it becomes an incredible advantage machine. Also effective as card draw if they've eliminated your creature (or more damage if they don't want you to have those cards, but you've likely done enough to them at this point that the damage is too risky.

@Nigrescence Browbeat does sound pretty sweet! I'll test it and see how it does.

LOL Browbeat finding Manamorphose drawing Browbeat ....

I think that Browbeat was one of my first suggestions. I guess cause I we were not agreeing about other things it was over looked. Glad you finally got it going its a great card.

@Bozak, 24/24 on turn 2? Is that even possible? 1 instant/sorcery gives +1/+1 until END OF TURN, it's not a permanent counter. That would mean casting 23 unique and individual instants/sorcery's on 1 turn. That should be, as far as I can tell, impossible. Could you maybe explain what you meant by that?

April 15, 2013 10:22 a.m.

Nigrescence says... #21

"That should be, as far as I can tell, impossible."

Normally, yes. There is another deck that uses the Blistercoil Weird and Paradise Mantle and a bunch of one mana cantrips to do exactly that, but that's not this deck.

Ahaha if anyone's got a link to a deck like that I'd love to see it and it's mechanics. Thanks for explaining, Nigrescence!
