After playing, have you found the lack of board wipes in the deck to be an issue? What about the big X mana finishers Exsanguinate and Torment of Hailfire, are they feeling like the closers you expected them to?

Crow-Umbra: I obvously missed the Mask, but it's a great card for sure. I'm actually considering building a Prosper Hellslinger, and if I build it, I'll include Carah, Toshiro Umezawa and all these Guttersnipe effects. I think this will be fun.

babydaggers, I haven't really found the lack of boardwipes to be an issue in the games I have played with the deck so far. In one of the last games I played, I had Torment of Hailfire in my opening hand and was in a position to dump about 10ish mana into the X (treasures and Crypt Ghast both on board), but I held off on using it so as not to win too early when everyone else was having a good time. Definitely one of those "I my next turn I totally would have..." type games. As much as I wish I had used it, it did set up a pretty cool turn interaction where myself and 2 of my other friends pooled our resources to take out our other friend who threatened 2 different combo wins with his Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons deck. In that game, my saving graces were Tibalt's Trickery and Chaos Warp.
I've been kicking around the idea of replacing Exsanguinate with Dead of Winter. I do have a copy of Toxic Deluge in another deck, but I think that deck needs it more, and Dead of Winter could be some decent tech in this one. I like Exsanguinate and have both died to it and also prolonged some of my own games with it. If it came down to it, I'd rather cut Exsanguinate over Torment of Hailfire.
My meta is varied enough that someone is always packing a boardwipe, so I thought I could either A) steal one via theft effects or B) let someone else carry the responsibility of making that decision. Since my playgroup is mostly just my friends from college, I've learned that sometimes its better politically to let someone else carry the burden of decisions that might not be as popular with the rest of the table lol.

I’ll put in a +1 for Possibility Storm. I hated playing it in every other deck I’ve tried it out in, but in my Prosper build it helps control the game entirely in my favor until I get a wincon off the top via impulse, or is removed. Recently, in fact, I had a game where it AND my copy of Knowledge Pool were both out at the same time, which oddly weakens both because of the choices made available to opponents. However, when it was removed at long last, I managed to have a Marionette Master, a Disciple of the Vault, and other vital combo components out, and could storm with Knowledge Pool whilst making Treasure, and sacrificing them for mana whilst beaning opponents in the process. Had a Grapeshot on hand just in case. It was absurd, but my point is that Possibility Storm is going to be on of your best friends in here if you decide to include it.

I had a copy of Possibility Storm in my binders, so I thought I'd give it a try Kalkris. I figured it could kinda serve multiple purposes at once. If I have the other combo pieces onboard already, I can cast any Sorcery and use it to "dig" for Chain of Smog. I only have 10 sorceries in the deck, so depending on how many I've played already, odds get better each time. I also like the pseudo-protection aspect of it messing up any interaction my opponents could play from hand, barring activated abilities and what not they already have on board.
I'm glad that Possibility Storm served you well in that game. Definitely sounds like you had the most ideal set up for it to work as intended. Now that you mention it, I do have copies of Grapeshot and Tendrils of Agony in my binders if I ever wanted to go my Stormy/Spellslinger in the future. On a similar note of Spellslinger, I do have Wandering Archaic Flip in consideration. Regardless if I've played it, or a friend has, it has come in clutch for getting copies of removal and ramp. Another piece that could also interact nicely with Storm-Kiln Artist and Sedgemoor Witch

Funnily enough, that wasn't even the first time I accidentally Possibility Storm'ed into a Knowledge Pool. It definitely did me better this game than the first time, that's for sure XD
I don't really consider my build found here (if you haven't seen it already) to be that much of a spellslinger build. I definitely consider it to be a combo deck, but I know that it holds a bit of weight in both categories. Nevertheless, I still have both of those particular storm spells in here because of the ease of use for either of them. I think they'd be great in this build (if you find a reasonable pair of cuts) or in a more slinger-y build, alongside Wandering Archaic Flip. I suddenly really want to see your imagining of that build, now, because if this deck is any indication of your deckbuilding prowess then it's gonna be gooooooood. haha!

I'll be playing a bunch of games this upcoming Saturday, so it'll be my chance to field test a lot of these changes since I last played the deck. I think I've changed about 10ish cards since I last played it irl. Hopefully Possibility Storm will serve me as well as it served you Kalkris lol.
I have seen your build! I think I might've liked it within the past couple weeks, or checked it out after one the first times you commented on my list. It definitely gave me some ideas for this build, especially at the point when I was considering combo additions to this deck.
I don't think I would do a serious spell slinger overhaul on this deck until I've played the current iteration for a few months. I'll probably throw together some kind of list and publish once I think it's worth having extra eyes for feedback. I do imagine running stuff like Guttersnipe and other "Magecraft-y" type effects, which would mostly be in Red. It's a shame Prosper isn't Grixis, because having access to Veyran, Voice of Duality would have been great lol. Grixis Prosper would've had some filthy combo potential.
I think if I were to find a slot for one more card, it would be Wandering Archaic Flip before any of the other Storm stuff. I've seen enough of it in games to see what it's capable of. In the game I mentioned a few comments back where my friends and I pooled resources to prevent our other friend from combo-ing off with Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons, one of my friends was running Wandering Archaic, and that let him copy some of our removal and interaction for a team effort lol.
And thank you, I appreciate it. I think I'm still very much developing as a deck builder. I try to have fun when I write my primers to keep people engaged if they do decide to check it out. I don't think this is the best "casual" Prosper deck out there, but it's something I've had a lot of fun tinkering with over the past month and a half.

Lol, yes it is GrimlockVIII. A couple of my other decks also have Death Grips references for names.
I talked a bit more about the reference for this deck in the "Inspiration from Outside of MtG" section of my primer.

I know you've mentioned Florian, Voldaren Scion but I just wanna say I thought of you first when I saw him. :)

Awwww, thank you tiffanyann. That makes me feel a special type of warm and fuzzy inside, that only a morally questionable Warlock can feel.
Florian is super cool, and I windmill slammed it into the mainboard as soon as he was spoiled.

Ooo yeah, those are both great suggestions BX223Hunter. My one copy of Deflecting Swat is currently in my Alesha deck, but I guess I could proxy a copy.... Deadly Rollick could probably be a swap for Terminate or Hurl Through Hell

terminate for sure, hurl through hell works well with Prosper

What will you do with all of the treasures, you need some mana sink or 'x' spell like fireball in your deck

Crow_Umbra says... #20
Hi OrigamiMaster502, I'm only running Torment of Hailfire and Commune with Lava as my only X spells. I think 2 X spells are fine, as it kinda sucks to get them on impulse draw.
Aside from those 2, the treasures are generally helpful for playing interaction & removal when I need to, and playing stolen spells. I can also sac a bunch of treasures to Magda, Brazen Outlaw to tutor out Bolas's Citadel, Uba Mask, or Goldspan Dragon.

Hi Crow-Umbra,
your probably right about that, I just did not read the cards, commune with lava can probably be replaced with something else because you will sink all you mana into that and then not be able to do anything with it, still a good card though, Torment of Hailfire is absolutely amazing btw

OrigamiMaster502 - Commune with Lava is okay, and is generally preferred in mid-late game if my treasure production has been decent so far. I rarely put more than 2-3 mana into the X. I think for the most part, my CMC curve is pretty low that I can usually get a few spells off each turn.
If it under-performs for me, I think that Commune with Lava could be replaced with Deadly Dispute or another 2-3 cmc draw spell.

Why Magda? Like, I get that she makes treasures, but you have one dragon and one (other) dwarf, who you don't want to put into the red zone. Not sure she really does enough to justify her place.
Isochron Scepter has enough targets to be viable (You Find Some Prisoners is particularly spicy), but you have a bunch of excellent options in your maybeboard which will affect the board more than Magda imo.

Thanks for the suggestions Soulus101. I have an Isochron Scepter around, and might've had it in an early maybe list of this deck.
I'll admit, Magda was kind of a cutesy inclusion on my part. I have a couple of copies and wanted to play-test it. I think I envisioned it as either an early attacker that would produce a treasure each time it attacked, or it could be like a mid game pseudo-tutor if I had banked up 5+ treasures to help me grab out Bolas's Citadel, Uba Mask, or Goldspan Dragon to the battlefield. I haven't had the chance to play Magda irl, so I haven't updated the deck with new games played.
I think Magda's spot could either get swapped out for Isochron Scepter, Forsworn Paladin, or maaaaybe a Dockside Extortionist if I wanted to do the obvious. I also recently picked up a Grim Tutor, but wasn't sure which of my decks I'd put it in yet.
October 20, 2021 6:26 p.m.
I forget Magda can tutor for artifacts as well! That does up her value a lot actually, so let me know how she plays out!
Geez, I should put her in my Osgir deck...

Thanks for the suggestions seshiro_of_the_orochi! I think I have Syr Carah in the Maybe Board of my Moxfield version of this deck. I think I didn't include her since most of my instants and sorceries don't deal face damage. I could see how she would work well with a more spell-slinger version of this deck though.
Uba Mask is in the 99 already, and it definitely is a house lol
