As a fellow tron player, i have discovered that Emrakul, the Aeons Torn is just not good anymore. After the new meta emrakul is just way to slow. I still played a bit with emrakul, just to make shure if it's good or bad, and every time i had an emrakul in my hand, i just wished it was an Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger, wich is a card i find a bit weird why you're not playing with. Ulamog can come down as early as turn four, and being able to take the opponent off from mana early is just crucial. Every time i played with emrakul, i boarded it out for game 2 and 3, because it looked so bad.
Emrakul is only really good against real control decks, but nobody is playing control decks anymore, and if they are, they are just playing Grixis with baby jace, wich is a deck where ulamog is still better.
I'm currently running two ulamogs, and i'm even considering a third.
Nice to see other tron players out there.

So now that eye of ugin is now banned, what can you use to replace it.

Some lists are going more creature heavy w Eldrazi and Temples, while some stay more traditional Tron but w Sanctum of Ugin and World Breakers and Thought-Knot Seers

Hello sir. I noticed that you ran no copies of Exploration, and I was surprised to see so. Would you be willing to explain why you made the decision to play no additional land drop spells?

Very cool. I wish that I had the money to purchase this.

Eye of Ugin is banned in Modern now and Sanctum of Ugin doesn't quite do the job as well. What would you replace it for?

G/R is kinda outdated, with G/W being the way to go right, thanks to Eldrazi and Death's Shadow taking over modern.
Also, Thragtusk is a card that you should play in the sideboard. It's really good.

Gruul Tron is still the most popular version of the deck and the go-to for most pro's, with the exception of maybe mono-blue, thanks to the option to play the flexible and cheap sweeper Pyroclasm. As for your suggestion, Thragtusk is definitely a strong sideboard card but I prefer Feed the Clan just due to cheaper mana cost, which makes a huge difference against burn and other aggressive decks.

GR tron just isen't as good as GW right now. I've had ton of succes with GR, and cashed at 2 gp's with it, but that was before Death's Shadow and Eldrazi. The only reason for Pyroclasm is affinity and elves, which are decks that dosen't see nearly as much play as Death's Shadow and Eldrazi.
White gives you access to Blessed Alliance, wich just seems like and upgrade to Feed the Clan. Feed the Clan is really only good against burn, whereas Blessed Alliance and thragtusk also can be used in other matchups.
Thragtusk is also good against Eldrazi, Death's Shadow, midrange/control, as well as helping you against Fulminator Mage.
Blessed Alliance is good against, burn, Eldrazi, Death's Shadow and infect.
After all, it's nice to see some fellow experienced tron players out here on tappedout.

FFS, BFZ block ruined modern, man... I was content playing Eye of Ugin Tron against Splinter Twin and the like. Now modern is just a bunch of annoying shit.

Yeah i know, eldrazi winter was the worst thing modern has ever seen. But in the current format, tron still wins over midrange/control, dredge and Living End, plus being ok against eldrazi and Death's shadow (assuming you're playing GW, since i haven't won a single game against eldrazi and shadow with red). Affinity is also a winable matchup.

Tron is still a very solid choice for modern, you just need to chance some things.
I forgot to mention: abzan company with Devoted Druid + Vizier of Remedies is a very solid mathcup, that has become very popular lately, so that's another plus for tron.

Yeah generally anything slow creature based like that, Abzan/Jund style decks, are usually great matchups. For example back in the day, going up against Birthing Pod with this deck wasn't impossible, however a matchup like Splinter Twin was much more different. Since I've been away for so long I would need to get a little more experience in the meta before I shifted from red to white, however. This deck still works just great for a little casual with my friends, which is primarily what I play regardless.

Yeah, Birthing Pod was just a dream to play against, with Splinter Twin being a nightmare. I'm shure you'll figure out how to succed in the current modern format.
