Nomads' Assembly , True Conviction , Elder of Laurels , Hornet Queen
Maybe a Sigil Captain as well to beef up the 1/1's. Even a Dragonscale General could do the trick.
October 15, 2015 2:59 a.m.
This deck doesn't focus on using a lot of small tokens, especially 1/1s. Also, Sigil Captain is awful, as it becomes useless the moment you control an anthem.
True Conviction was in the deck long ago, but I found it was almost totally useless, and Elder of Laurels only buffs one creature.
It's basically gotten to the point where suggestions on older cards are useless, and the only changes to the deck now will be minor optimizations and new cards. Unless of course someone suggest cards I've overlooked in the past by chance.

like Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite and Path of Bravery?

Not a big fan of Path, I tried it once and it didn't really do anything. Elesh Norn is great, but I don't have $20 to drop on one card.

Nice deck sir!
Apoligies if any of my observations has been mentioned before, but here are some thoughts:
Since you are only running two colors, I would recommend that you drop the Evolving Wilds, Terramorphic Expanse, Krosan Verge and Selesnya Sanctuary in favor of Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx, some more fetches, or even just some basics. Canopy Vista will also work, and so will Savannah if you feel like spending the cash. I do see that you have a small landfall theme going, but in that case I'd recommend that you increase the focus: more landfall, Crucible of Worlds, Exploration (etc), and all fetches. See Go, throw yourself into the sea for an example setup.
Why are you running Expedition Map in this deck? What is the must-have land that you want to fethc? If it is just there for ramp, I would probably run Yavimaya Elder instead.
I am also curious about Chromatic Lantern, since you are only in two colors. Selesnya Signet is cheaper and works well with colorless mana from your Sol Ring. On the other hand, I assume you have it in the deck, to help with a turn 3 or 4 Trostani, Selesnya's Voice.
How has Genesis Wave treated you in this deck? I'm asking since you don't have that much ramp. I love the card, but I only run it in my most rampish deck such as Damia Counting Counters.
Regarding your anthems I think you should try out True Conviction instead of Collective Blessing. On average it is slightly better damage on your creatures, and the first strike part of double strike and the lifelink makes a huge difference. I would also swap Beastmaster Ascension for something with a direct payoff e.g., Archangel of Thune, Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite or Nylea, God of the Hunt.
Since you are in GW I would advice you to take full advantage of your Sun Titan and also run Reveillark, Karmic Guide and Eternal Witness.
On a last note Elspeth, Sun's Champion is really good in token decks with Doubling Season and Parallel Lives. She can take the place of both a token producer and an anthem.
Cheers

This is a big comment that I need to address, because there are some misunderstandings about my card choices and how my deck works, but there's also some great advice for GW players (with a lot of money.) I'll start from the beginning.
The fetches and duals I run are for budget and landfall purposes. I don't have the cash to spend $200 on lands, sorry. I also enjoy getting multiple landfall triggers, and being able to choose which basics I get.
Expedition Map can fetch utility lands, of which I have many. Krosan Verge is especially good to fetch because it can help me ramp very well into the midgame.
Chromatic Lantern makes all of my lands, even the colourless ones, tap for colours. There's a lot of value in that, and that also makes it amazing with Mirari's Wake. It's better than you seem to think.
Genesis Wave is often a finisher. There aren't many times I play it when I don't just win. I've even gotten a 30 G-Wave off for a glorious finish.
My anthem choices are chosen from experience over almost 3 years of playing the deck. Beastmaster Ascension is never dead, and True Conviction can be hard to cast when you're having mana troubles (which happens infrequently, but has happened in the past.) I also can't afford Elesh, and Deathtouch isn't very important when most of my tokens are bigger than 3/3.
I honestly don't feel devoting even more card slots to recursion when the deck is already so tuned. I have too many other quality token producers and utility cards, taking them out would be a disservice.
And finally, the reason I haven't used that Elspeth before is simply because she used to be too expensive and I haven't bought cards in a long time.
Thanks a lot for your input, it means a lot to get such an in-depth comment. Some of your suggestions are definitely sound, there may come a time where I do run True Conviction, and if I ever do focus more on lifegain, I will try to find an Archangel of Thune.
October 19, 2015 4:02 p.m.
Oh, and about Path of Bravery: I'd only add it to the deck if I also has Archangel of Thune. Which is a BIG if. I don't buy expensive cards.

An anthem that I run in my Trostani deck that has done well for me is Intangible Virtue. +1/+1 and Vigilance is nothing to scoff at. :O
November 1, 2015 12:17 p.m.
Not a big fan of anthems that only buff tokens and only grant +1/+1, and I actually tried Heliod before. Vigilance just wasn't all that useful on its own.

Combo:
Add Awakening Zone and/or From Beyond and Selesnya Signet, Concordant Crossroads, Dross Scorpion, Spawning Pit, and Thousand-Year Elixir
Step 1: Now if you have Awakening Zone and/or From Beyond in the battlefield make as many token as possible with populate. This is Important.
Step 2: Now sacrifice 11 token for the 11 colorless to pay for Dross Scorpion, Spawning Pit, and Thousand-Year Elixir. Tap one green for Concordant Crossroads.
Step 3: Now sacrifice 6 (or more) token for charge counter for Spawning Pit. Than sacrifice 3 more token to remove counter on Spawning Pit to add 3 artifacts creature. (Important to have 3 or more artifact creature for this combo to work)
Step 4: Populate with commander (sacrifice token for colorless and use Selesnya Signet for mana).
Step 5: Sacrifice two artifact creature. (Because of Dross Scorpion you can) untap Thousand-Year Elixir and Selesnya Signet.
Step 6: Sacrifice token colorless and tap Thousand-Year Elixir to untap Commander.
Step 7: Repeat Step 4-6.
Enjoy this Combo

I've had to go over this way too often with people. If I wanted infinite combos in my decks, I'd use them. You think people would look at my decks or profile, realize I know a good deal about the game, and figure out that I don't run crap like that on purpose. I guess I'm just overestimating people.
Besides the fact that combos are boring, they require you to play cards that are bad individually in order to maybe win instantly. Why would I want to do that? How is that fun?

Seance seems like a nice way to make a token of any card in your graveyard with trostani, abusing ETB effects and such. Requiem Angel possibly for board wipe protection?
November 17, 2015 4:12 a.m.
Also with Seance it's every upkeep, if you have a way to untap trostani. You also don't have to activate it, so it doesn't clear out your graveyard when you don't have her out
November 17, 2015 4:24 a.m.
I've considering Seance before, but especially now I don't want to be exiling my creatures very often, since I have a couple good recursion creatures.
I tend not to run tokens smaller than 3/3, or even 2/2. A flood of 1/1 tokens isn't the theme of this deck.
November 17, 2015 6:42 a.m.
You might want to consider running Plea for Guidance for some really good enchantment search.
Primal Vigor adds another token doubler to the deck, depending on what decks your play groups tend to play. It makes Beast Within a little worse, but getting 8x tokens is insanely fun.
Bestial Menace is an amazing token producer. 5 mana = 6/6 gain 6 life. Every token doubler obviously makes it better as well.
November 25, 2015 9:52 p.m.
I just took out Plea for Guidance. It was never useful in the year it was in my deck.
Primal Vigor isn't needed when I have a strictly better card, and it has some massive downsides.
Bestial Menace is just not nearly as good as Trostani's Summoner, which is competes with, since space is tight.

I like the build a lot. So I decided to build something close to it although the only thing i saw that the deck needed was some card draw. Im thinking Inheritance, Garruk's pack-leader, momentous fall, and life's legacy. Also instead of rest in peace I use Grafdiggers cage. Not very expensive cards but quite a bit of change. Other then that thanx for the build man!

Hello, my friend.
Trostani is one of my favorite cards of all time, and looking at your dedication to this deck was inspiring, and the last push I needed to build my own!

What I'm wondering as I'm trying to create a trostani deck is: do you even get out enough large tokens to populate? I'm trying to fill my deck with almost as many large tokens as I can get my hands on. Because I need a large token in order to populate it and get my mana's worth out of it. The problem is such a build is way above 4 avg cmc. Haven't playtested at all since I'm still building.So.. do you get enough big tokens out to populate enough to apply pressure?
January 29, 2016 1:55 a.m.
Populating a 3/3 or above is always worth it, especially when you have other value cards out like Cathars' Crusade or Akroma's Memorial. There are 16 sources of big fat tokens in the deck, which means you are more than likely to draw multiple sources over the course of the game.
Besides that, you don't need to use Trostani every turn for the deck to give you value or apply pressure. The deck can do things without its commander being on the board.
I also fail to see how an average CMC of 4 is bad in the slowest format in Magic in a deck with enough ramp to play 6-drops on turn 4 reliably. (If you're playing 1v1 or "competitive" Commander, then don't ask me for advice. I don't play with tryhards like that.)
Of course now it's a bit less reliable, since they changed the mulligan rule, but I still think this deck is effective.
January 29, 2016 10:28 a.m.
Do you not use Cryptolith Rite because you use fatter tokens that are better for beating people with? Also, as you do have more fatties have you considered Elemental Bond for the card draw?

Maybe Mycoloth? Even if you sacrifice 1-2 creatures, it can still be very valuable at times

Chord of Calling? Use it yo get wurmcoil, avenger or any big threat from your library to the battlefield

what makes Spawnwrithe worth running? does it work well? why does everyone run it?

@ keen_the_crazy: Probably because I haven't updated the deck in a year and I won't be able to for a while longer.
