The return on Marshal's Anthem is great, well worth 6 mana to get an Anthem and a reanimate in white. Besides, I have so many more anthem effects (Giving creatures +n/+n) than just Marshal's Anthem.

@ZeroZX: Your deck takes a rather different direction than mine, and any cards you do have that I'd consider are ones I've tried and ones I know wouldn't do well. Thanks anyway though.

@obiewun: Feel free, been working on this deck for a long time now and it's come together nicely. I just gotta optimize it is a liiiittle bit more though I'm not sure with what.

Avenger of Zendikar was dropped in exchange for other 7drops, Luminarch Ascension is in the maybeboard, Sylvan Primordial is no good in tokens and I took out Joraga Treespeaker a long time ago. Also how did you manage a triplepost?

It wasn't going and I got impatient sorry. I think you might be able to remove them. Would you play Defense of the Heart Sol Ring Skullclamp ? Possibly Emeria Angel if you want to use collective blessing and glare.

February 18, 2013 9:23 p.m.

Skyfolk says... #10

No, Maybe, No and No. Skullclamp is not good if your tokens are over 1/1, and Emeria Angel makes 1/1s slowly, which I want to avoid. Defense of the Heart is meh for me, really.

You're missing a Temple Garden and Sigil of the Empty Throne , these are huge for token decks.

February 19, 2013 7:09 p.m.

Skyfolk says... #12

I don't like Sigil. It forces you to hold back casting your enchantments if you wanna get any value out of it, which I hate doing. And unless somebody gives me money to get a Temple Garden I will not, since I have no money and I've used all my store credit.

absolutely put Ajani Goldmane in. the avatars double your life total and make themselves stronger by doing so

get ajanis avatar at 50 life get a 50/50 avatar your life is 100 populate with Trostani get another 100 life and you now have 2 200/200 avatars and 200 life etc...etc...

if someone uses Wrath of God or it's like use Rootborn Defenses

uber powerful game winner

or you can add a Spearbreaker Behemoth instead of the Dauntless Escort or both

I took out Rootborn Defenses, I use Dauntless Escort instead. Spearbreaker is just... bad.

Considering taking out Trading Post, Banishing Stroke and True Conviction for things. Perhaps Expedition Map, Cultivate and Oblation

Are you seriously telling me to drop perfectly functional lands that cost next to nothing for nearly $70 worth of cards? Yeah it's not like I need to eat food or anything. This deck is already worth $300+ and I can't go out and buy a 10 dollar card just yet, let alone a 50 dollar card. Trust me, I'm not some dumb new player, if I had the money I'd be replacing some lands with the big ones, but it's just dumb to spend that much actual money on dual lands to maybe have a chance to accelerate ONE turn. /end rant.

Lets start with land; take out Forbidden Orchard ( it gives the token to someone else) Graypelt Refuge (etb tapped) Selesnya Guildgate (etb tapped) Selesnya Sanctuary (etb tapped))Add in Windswept Heath Temple Garden Mystifying Maze City of Brass

February 28, 2013 9:23 p.m.

Skyfolk says... #21

ETB tapped is no reason to remove a land, and if you read my description I clearly say "No, I cannot afford to buy stupidly priced cards, if you suggest expensive cards I will chew you out as to why I can't afford them. I got the cards I have through trading and store credit."

Why would I remove a dual land just because it enters the battlefield tapped? EDH is a casual, slow format. Forbidden Orchard is also a political card and a rainbow land, so it's staying. I know you might play it like a competitive format, but that's not what it's supposed to be like at all.

Sorry for getting a little in your face there, I'm just rather tired of people totally misunderstanding the deck/assuming my meta is like their's.

lukemwillis says... #23

I think True Conviction is going to be better for you than Collective Blessing most of the time, just because you're focusing on larger tokens. It's mostly preferential, though.

Windswept Heath was printed in a worlds version you can pick up for like $3 and is playable in edh as wizards refers to the entire format as 'casual'. The Temple Garden was just reprinted in return to ravnica and can be traded for at $10. In fact the only really expensive land in here is the Maze of Ith. I'm sorry if it got a bit out of budget, I am used to my meta that is tournament oriented and ultra competitive. I will keep that in mind. I would suggest Gelatinous Genesis and if you can get them definitely play the walkers you have listed in your mayboard.

Skyfolk says... #25

@lukemwillis: True Conviction was never better than Collective Blessing. That's why I removed it.

@essiga9: Windswept Heath only had 2 printings, one is over a $100, the other is about $50. I don't have any traders left to get a Temple Garden. I have expensive lands because I bought FTV: Realms last year, and I already have Gelatinous Genesis, but it's on the chopping block currently because it needs 7 mana just to be effective, and there are other things I could be doing with that mana. I'm not sure yet though.
