I'd like to see Growing Ranks and Emmara Tandris in here.

I took out Growing Ranks for Garruk, Primal Hunter, and I honestly hope you're joking about Emmara. You know, because she's strictly worse than Vigor .

Another thing that's better than Emmara is Rune-Tail, Kitsune Ascendant ... There is literally no reason t ever play Emmara.

I would agree 100% that those cards are much better, but you don't have the luxury of consistently hitting them in EDH unless you have some tutors I'm not seeing. Also, calm down, just offering a suggestion.

Skyfolk says... #5

I am calm, but I don't like running bad cards in my decks. I never said I'd get Vigor every game, but why would I need to? I don't need every card in this deck every game, that's the point of running a variety of good things.

It's the same reason I don't run the splicers, they are not worth the mana and there are creatures that do it better.

I have another suggestion for you. First you can add Parallel Evolution to double your strong tokens and to give you more life for Phyrexian Processor . Also you could add Thousand-Year Elixir to untap Trostani, Selesnya's Voice to populate again. Lastly you could add Wilt-Leaf Liege which could be another Tolsimir Wolfblood in your deck.

Okay here's my breakdown of the cards:

Parallel Evolution requires me to have a good amount of creatures out to even be useful, and if I were to add it I would have to take out one of the things that brings me back from sweepers. Otherwise it is a solid card, just not for my meta.

Thousand-Year Elixir only works well for a tiny amount of cards in my deck, not worth the slot sadly.

Wilt-Leaf Liege is great and all, but I run Tolsimir as double duty, as an anthem and a way to abuse ETB triggers.

Otherwise solid suggestions, just not for my deck or meta.

Spawnwrithe maybe? (A smaller yet useful Giant Adephage )

May 8, 2013 11:15 a.m.

I had spawnwrithe a loooong time ago when this was a Rhys deck. I took it out in favour of some utility things. Who knows, I might try it again depending on what happens this year.

I know you may not have room, but Emmara Tandris may be an interesting addition?

May 9, 2013 11 a.m.

Skyfolk says... #13

I'm running Vigor, who is strictly better than Emmara Tandris in every way and I'm considering Rune-Tail, Kitsune Ascendant which is also strictly better. I tend not to run bad cards.

Some cards I'd look at if you haven't already: Collective Unconscious , Parallel Evolution and possibly Eldrazi Monument .

Also a Tooth and Nail into a Avacyn, Angel of Hope and Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite is a pretty easy wincon with a bunch of dudes out.

May 11, 2013 12:45 a.m.

Skyfolk says... #20

I don't like Tooth and Nail . I'm not a huge fan of running overly expensive winmore cards, I play casually.

Collective Unconscious = better in Rhys

Parallel Evolution = Better in Rhys (And requires creatures out to be useful)

Eldrazi Monument = Better in Rhys

I don't always huge amounts of tokens, usually due to the number of sweepers in the meta. But I also don't feel like buying an Avacyn, as she's one of those creatures that eats an exile or tuck spell within a turn of being out. Not to mention mass bounce and tuck sweepers exist as well.

I really like this deck. I'm still working on my Trostani deck.

Chalice of Life  Flip should definitely be in here. If they can't get rid of it, it's going to be a big problem. Even though you don't have too many creatures that do stuff when they come into play, Conjurer's Closet could still help with your life gain. Essence Warden and Soul Warden will also help out with more life gain, then maybe end the game with Felidar Sovereign ?

What about some more populate cards - Growing Ranks and Wayfaring Temple ?

There are some heavier token cards, too - Crush of Wurms and Parallel Evolution . Plus, flashback is great!

Just some ideas. I'm not quite sure if you're more worried about overrunning with creatures, or life gain, but I hope some of these give you ideas.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll try and give reasons as to why I don't run them clearly.

The life gain cards: The life gain is used strictly to keep me alive and keep me at high life for Storm Herd .

Growing Ranks - I took it out, it's useless if I have no dudes, and there's nothing I'd really wanna take out for it.

Wayfaring Temple - Doesn't have trample. If it did, I would use it.

Crush of Wurms - Sure it makes 3 big duders, but they don't have evasion. At 9 mana I want something akin to Entreat the Angels or Storm Herd .

Parallel Evolution - Same reason I don't use Nomads' Assembly and Growing Ranks , it's not good if I lack creatures. (which is common, because sweepers are a big thing in my meta.)

Voice of Resurgence might be a nice card to put in. Even just killing it off to get one of the tokens makes for a powerful populate tool.

May 23, 2013 11:32 p.m.

Skyfolk says... #24

Yes it does, but it's nowhere near wprth the price tag at the moment. Maybe when it drops after RTR rotates next year.

Gearge says... #25

I would run Rest in Peace . but that's because my meta contains a mean Sheoldred, Whispering One deck. It's a matter of preference though, Sun Titan does sound like a lot of fun.
