As Door to Nothingness comes into play tapped, you flash it down on your opponents turn by paying 7, untap it during upkeep, then activate it during the main phase for 10. I would need 9 lands +1 Chromatic Lantern to do so (or any combination of lanterns/lands).
You make a good point with your Think Twice suggestion, although I like having several ways to draw as getting Otherworld Atlas during a game is not guaranteed. I want to have enough blue in this deck so I am not having Island s only for card:Alchemist's Refuge.

hmm maybe you could do some defender combo with that add X to your mana pool thing. Galvanic Alchemist + Axebane Guardian . then get a bunch of Fog Bank s

Oooh, that's not a bad idea. Not a bad idea at all. I like the simplicity of Chromatic Lantern more, but I have plenty of defenders Fog Bank , Hover Barrier , Gatecreeper Vine , Doorkeeper , etc, lying around. I may try that.

Why card:Alchemist's Refuge ?? You dont need flash you have mainly instants anyways.

Or instead of using the flash from card:Alchemist's Refuge for the Door to Nothingness on their end step, why not just add Temporal Mastery

I have removed blue, so even though Temporal Mastery would have been a good addition I will not add it. I'm trying to keep this deck cheap ;)
Sideboard suggestions?

What should I drop for Gilded Lotus ? I have not been a fan of Terrifying Presence so far, as it still lets one creature deal damage. I guess that card could go.

I haven't really thought about Pithing Needle . Perhaps I could mainboard Naturalize ?

This is pretty similar to my deck Defend the Door. You should really try another wincon to get around Pithing Needle and other such things, though, even if it's a bad one. Perhaps mainboarding Elixir of Immortality and using it to keep recycling your deck, milling your opponent to death? Also, you have no way of getting around straight burn decks, so Elixir would help with that somewhat.

Witchbane Orb helps quite a bit against burn decks, but I like the idea of mainboarding Elixir of Immortality . I've updated the deck, now I just need a good sideboard. Naturalize and Acidic Slime are there to counter artifact and enchantment-heay decks, but I'm not sure what else I need.

card:Grafdigger's Cage and Ground Seal are both in color and good sideboard options against graveyard shenanigan decks.

I've added both of those suggestions, thanks! I think the deck is where I want it right now, I will be taking it to FNM this evening and will see how it does!

After playing with it a bit, I have determined that i am still not set on the sideboard. I have not yet used the Acidic Slime or the Naturalize . Thoughts on this?

This deck looks awesome! thanks for posting it, +1!! =)
My sideboard thoughts...-1x Naturalize -2x Acidic Slime
In my meta plenty people run a lot of planeswalkers, Pithing Needle shuts them down. =)

i like this deck very much, but how do you handle with control decks? with counterspells and stuff similar?

I just made a DtN deck but i use defenders for mana ramp and have blue for counters and black for card search.

I like the Pithing Needle idea, I will definitely add that to the sideboard.
Strangely enough I have not played against a control deck with this yet. I am kinda worried about it tbh, any suggestions as what to do against counter-heavy decks?

i think you need something sideboard to return a artifact from graveyard to your hand, in case off counter on the Door or the Lantern. In what case do you use Ground Seal?
November 24, 2012 4:49 p.m.
On the subject of counter-heavy decks, maybe you could mainboard 4 Hinterland Harbor and sideboard Dispel in order to counter their counters? That's what I do in my DtN deck, but it's hard to know how it will work with one that is straight-up Turbofog.

Wouldn't you need 17 mana to flash in Door and then activate it? Maybe Boundless Realms would help you get there a lot faster.
And if you have constant draw like Otherworld Atlas, maybe you don't need Think Twice.
