Added Oblivion Ring to the mainboard and Nevermore to the sideboard. The ring is a great targeted removal spell (which I lack completely) while Nevermore will be brought in against Slaughter Games and the like.

Somehow your mana pie is completely ignoring the fact you have two Islands in the deck...

MAN! I think that I'm going to build this beauty, it seems just funny to play as hell! :D

+1 great job!

P.S. Just thinking... don't you risk to have yoyr hand completely empty?

This deck pisses people off VERY quickly if they don't have the tools to deal with it, and rounds take much longer than usual to complete. This is probably one of the most annoying budget decks I've ever seen lol.

I do risk running my hand empty, but typically Otherworld Atlas keeps my hand well-stocked.

Love this deck +1 also are there any cards that would made it better that you dont put in here because its a budget deck or is it just a cheap deck? i know there are dual lands but after playtesting i dont really see a need for them.

This deck wasn't really designed to be a budget deck, it just ended up being one! It functions fine without expensive cards, although I have considered Gilded Lotus .

have you ever considered some other awesome high cost cards? since you have so much mana and it can be any color you can pretty much play lots of really cool cards beside DtN

@kkslider5150 I think that adding different cards will make this deck unabalnced, what would you play?

Umm well i guess so jsut random ones i can think of now might be Army of the Damned, Boundless Realms, Griselbrand, Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker, Sphinx of Uthuun, Stormtide Leviathan, Temporal Mastery, or Terminus. Also these are just some random ones i thought of so i have not tested them. They are just random thoughts i had.

I think that Army of the Damned could be funny as hell! :D

but also I think that removing protection spells could be a problem...

kkslider5150 says... #12

ya that was my thought when trying to figure out what to remove. Maybe sideboard all Witchbane Orb or maybe Elixir of Immortality i like it because its more life and recycles but it could be a posibility to remove

kasta96 says... #13

Mmmmmmm, probably Elixir of Immortality in the sideboard with Witchbane Orb could be a solution...

It's interesting how I'm helping for a deck that probably I will never play :'D

kkslider5150 says... #14

ha i am actually going to make a similar deck so thats ok cuz your helping me. also i think that Stormtide Leviathan could actually be kinda cool. I mean it stops all creatures except those with flying from attacking and allows you to swing for 8 everyturn.

I think that Army of the Damned could be more useful! All you need to do it's staying alive as long as you can to get the Door to Nothingness, get the mana you need and win the game in this way.

So 13 blocking 2/2 in my opinion are better than one 8/8 that prevents a lot of damages, but this is my opinion...

also the zombies can be used one more time with flashback!

thats true, and!!!! if you flash Army of the Damned you can get around the fact that they come in tapped!!! because of Alchemist's Refuge.

yep, that's true! A playtest could be useful!

I've always been a fan of gimmick decks with strange win conditions which is why I am so fond of Maze's End . The deck definitely can win some games. Reliability is my concern. Do you have any suggestions?

The worst nightmare of this is Burning Earth :D

Anyway, I think that the Prophet of Kruphix actually makes Maze's End a lot more playable since you can (kind of) use it the turn you play it. And I think the Urban Evolution is also very crucial, maybe you should try and add a fourth.

October 10, 2013 12:44 p.m.

I definitely do want a fourth Urban Evolution . Should I cut one Prophet of Kruphix for it? Or something else?

October 10, 2013 2 p.m.

I'd think that the two Jaces should be either moved to the sideboard or cut out and replaced by one each of Urban Evolution and a Simic Guildgate (or instead of the latter maybe a lower cost disruption spell or another Prophet of Kruphix ).

The thing with him is that you can't really protect him, except with Fog (the other fog effects don't work with PWs), and if you use his +1, that's basically cycling him, while Urban Evolution gives you 3 cards. He can serve as an alternate win condition against control, but otherwise I'm really not sure about him.

Also would actually put in a bit more green sources since you're so dependant on green. Maybe remove one of the Maze's End and put in another Simic Guildgate .

October 11, 2013 6:17 a.m.

Thanks for the suggestions! I have moved the Jaces to the sideboard. I like having multiple win conditions in my opening deck, but more often then not I don't play him first round anyway.

I've also made the suggested land swaps. I've never had a problem getting the green or blue that I need, but keeping the manabase reliable is good.

Am I crazy to try and play this deck semi-competitively? And what do you think of Riot Control ?

October 11, 2013 11:56 a.m.

ZettaFett says... #24

I like Riot Control , why is it not in there? It gains you life, which is nice.

Have you considered any of the cards that interact with having a crap ton of gates? the only one worth it is Saruli Gatekeepers , in my opinion, again for the life gain. That can be necessary when you've got nothing to defend yourself with.

Maybe Nightveil Specter ? He's super cool with a five color deck, as you can assuredly play anything and everything he exiles.

A cool idea a friend of mine told me about is Possibility Storm . In a deck like this, it could (arguably) work to your favor. You're screwing up their strategy while Fog ing it up still. Anytime you cast a fog spell, it'll turn into another fog spell, so you won't have any trouble stalling like that. Plus your Into the Wilds interaction still happens, and since you're only running two creatures, having either of them out is nice. It's just a silly thing I'd really like to see happen someday. Haha. Nobody runs it, but it's such an interesting card.

Anyways, I don't think this deck would ever make it competitively. It's just too darn slow. But just have fun with it! Even if you take it to FNM and lose, you should run it for the lulz when you actually BEAT somebody with it.

What should I take out for Saruli Gatekeepers ? I really like where the deck is now, but life gain and a decent blocker are always welcomed in a deck like this.
