Together with your duals and Birds you have in here I would suggest Wild Guess for card draw and as another discard option for Anger .

A card:Summoner's Pact to get Blightsteel Colossus when you need it could be pretty good too. Another option would be Worldly Tutor : It has the disadvantage to only give you something for the next round but it is an instant that can even give you Elvish Piper if needed without the mana you have to pay next round from the pact. Quicksilver Amulet could serve as a seconde Elvish Piper so you draw it more constant.

The decklist is really just a list of the cards needed for the turn 3 win, and if any of you have some backup plans that'd be awesome. I was thinking I'd put in Kozilek, Butcher of Truth , Emrakul, the Aeons Torn and It That Betrays as other fatties for Piper to bring out in case I don't have blightsteel in my hand by turn 3.

Also, summoner's pact would only work on getting out Elvish piper since blightsteel isn't a green creature, and worldly tutor would be great. Maybe some tutors would help a lot.

I'm gonna have to say no to Quicksilver amulet because it's too much investment in mana, especially when there's 4 Elvish Piper s in the deck.

Seething Song + Through the Breach , or perhaps some Summoning Trap love.

I would still suggest Wild Guess as another Faithless Looting .

Instead of It That Betrays I would include Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre since he is indestructible and has more annihilator.

Another reason why I would include Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre instead is that he will be reshuffeled and It That Betrays will not. Creatures that will be reshuffeled are better in your deck since you can throw them away with your red draw cards and still have a chance of drawing them again.

I like it that betrays because if I have him out instead of blightsteel, I take control of whatever they sacrificed so there's little to no blockers and the damage goes through. I actually meant to put ulamog in here anyway, I just forgot XD.

Those combos are great, definitely adding them, thanks :)

Also, Faithless looting is enough draw power / discard but thanks lol

It that betrays is only really good if you have all is dust in your deck (which you don't have nor will it do any good)

Artisan of kozilek is a better alternative. Not only is it terrifying by itself, but if they find a way to destroy your huge ones, you can revive it if you cast artisan (which probably won't happen, but still)

P.s. anybody recommending Seething Song should check the ban list. This deck honestly reminds me of Antonio Fedon's deck from PT Philly 2011. I love combo decks that come out of nowhere.

Much fun was had playtesting this deck against my recently made deck:

http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/oh-shit-bro-he-has-a-torpor-orb/

Good game.

Okay, I know, your deck isn't bad, my deck is good (which does not imply that your deck is bad, nor is it implying that I am superior. In fact your deck is actually pretty damn good, I'm saying that my deck is TOO good)

Better put some beast withins in there.

Just playtested and got a turn 2 win with blight steel collossus... EPIC! Turn 1 stomping grounds into arbor elf, turn two infernal plunge into seething song into through the breach into blight steel collossus for the win, awesome deck. +1

This is just wrong. XD And it's exactly why I don't play anything--or against anything--that isn't Standard legal. Nicely done; you've earned a +1 from me.

203995014 Thanks for the input, but It That Betrays is just fine the way he is lol. Also, I liked your deck, it's pretty OP.

kingshanks Awesome job finding that, I didn't realize. Credited you in the description for that combo :)

TzarChasm Thanks :)

This is listed as Legacy so Seething Song is not banned. I would definitely play Through the Breach as a 4-of, that's your fastest path to victory. If you find yourself able to cheat something into play but lacking a big creature very often, you can also try Ancient Stirrings

Cobthecobbler says... #17

I'll do some playtesting with some new numbers, so hopefully it works out. And I'll have to pass on Ancient Stirrings, lol it doesn't really help much. If I don't have a fatty by turn 3 at the latest, I usually have Worldly Tutor by then, so it all works out.

Man, I don't really have a lot of improvements to suggest about this deck other maybe Wooded Foothills to make it function even more smoothly. I see Sneak Attack frequently in this kind of deck too, but that's up to you. It's meant to be an extreme speed Eldrazi deck, and that's just what it is.

February 28, 2013 7:19 p.m.

Cobthecobbler says... #19

The only reason those two aren't in here (And I have considered them) is price; those two cards are extremely expensive since I would want to run at least 2 of each. The Eldrazi's are expensive enough as is, but they're obtainable because I know I can trade for some at my LGS with either the shop or some people there.

But thanks, I'm glad you think the deck is solid :)

I've been away from Magic for awhile & especially tournament/non-casual Magic...Taiga's would be legal in this deck, right? Are you keeping them out due to the expense...Also, any reason not to sideboard some Red Elemental Blast against Blue Control?

Dranethai says... #21

I have just one word. Nevermore. That would decimate this. Naturalize, to remove? Sideboard, at least, I would expect.

miracleHat says... #22

only three Elvish Piper?

March 2, 2013 11:13 a.m.

I would definitely suggest 4 Elvish Piper since you have to consistently draw that. There's also Racecourse Fury as an alternative to Anger but yeah, that could cost more later on, yet potentially save you some early on, (but early ramp is what you're going for right?) I'm new to magic, but I think I can still contribute. :)

March 3, 2013 5:38 a.m.

Dranethai says... #24

I'd have to suggest running a playset of Mental Misstep in your sideboard. That can destroy one drop removal, and one drop infinite combos.

Fury of the Horde basically is an additional way to say GG, once you go off.
