So this is called Weirdstorm, saw it on another site, it's rather awesome.

Excellent deck, I really like it. Most of my suggestions have already been discussed here in the comments and such. I do have one more for you that nobody has mentioned: Pact of Negation . It doesn't provide card draw, but it can save you in a pinch. Although, you better be sure you can win that turn of casting it. I suppose it could be a little dangerous, but that's the name of the game. Also, I realize they are about 20 bucks a piece, but if you could get your hands on at least two, I think it would help you out a lot. At the very least, you could sideboard them. GG+1

P.S.: On second thought, I suppose a Spell Pierce would be sufficient enough, but Pact of Negation is free (somewhat lol).

I can just imagine you running your weird up to a 20/20 only to see your opponent throw down an Unsummon . Ouch.

I would look into using Reshape and Lotus Bloom s as well incase the combo "halts" at any given point....when playtesting I noticed that once you stopped drawing cantrips or didn't draw a grapeshot that this deck flopped fairly hard....but with reshape and lotus bloom you can turn 3 start it over (or search for a mantle if needed as well
obviously it is not an ideal situation...but at least a maybe board or sideboard

I'd replace 2x Aphotic Wisps and 2x Manamorphose with 3x Noxious Revival and 1 Pact of Negation .

I would add some dual and fetch lands. I play tested your deck and I found that I wanted to play manamorphose or Aphotic Wisps but didn't have the mantle.

I like the deck but i would put in some mountains and take out some islands

Instead of Cerulean Wisps try Shadow Rift instead of simply untapping the Weird creature that would already get boosted up and untap, it gives the creature shadow until the end of turn which essentially makes it unblockable and would help if your opponent managed to play a creature to block.

So basically you need Paradise Mantle in starting hand to do anything

Great Deck! +1 From Me
It would be awesome if you would check out my elf deck Mono Green Elf Deck and see if you could give me any suggestions. I would love input from smart mtg players.

Great stuff bro! IMO you need a couple of cards more. I'm talking about Mizzium Skin (to play for first) and Unnatural Predation to play at the end if you miss the Grapeshot . For the rest, it's wonderful :) +1!

Nice Deck! This one inspired me doing a pauper deck which runs almost the same. Is really cheap and seems that can work too. And it can always get some changes and go back to modern. Would be nice if you check it and give me your opinion! ;)

Nice deck indeed. I'll try this one. Btw, about your combo, I think you should keep Paradise Mantle on hand and play it on T2. Ya know.. storm count.

Absolutely love this. One thing I notice many people commenting on is the use of chumpblockers to block a beefed up weird. Once you start to get up in storm count, and the weird gets stronger, if you run into a dead spot before you can deal lethal damage you allows have the option of using Grape Shot on the weak blocker then the rest to a player then swing with your strong weird.

I have been playing a "turn 2" standard deck with Blistercoil Weird
. I was wanting to make a modern deck, and thought cantrips would be fun with him. I had no idea there were so many available. WOW. I'm running 4 Steam Vents
and 4 Watery Grave
just in case I mulligan down really low and end up needing to cast a non-blue spell to try to draw into a creature or equipment. I've played around with Tainted Strike
and Turn Aside
, but have had such a wide swing of results, I can't say if I think they help or hurt the cause.

This is really sweet.... strongly suggest Simian Spirit Guide and Crimson Wisps , though. That can really can catch up cantrips and accelerate.

I'm trying with 2x Apostle's Blessing and Inaction Injunction , Cremate and Explore , Psychotic Fury , for more cards Sign in Blood
For another direct dmg 2x Fling and 2x Rite of Consumption
and for counters Flusterstorm and for sideboard Surgical Extraction
