Hi Megalomania, I've commented the the BG one, not the Grixis as I dont realy like the archetipe

I see you have 99 cards and Caustic Caterpillar may be usefull to resolve Rest in Peace and Leyline of the Void and it can be recasted by muldrotha. Otherwise I can think of Auriok Salvagers for infinite mana with LED. For now I can't think of any other good cards, the list is very well made, so I have to ask what aspect you want to improve. +1 for me!

Thank you for the upvote and suggestion.

I am torn between Caustic Caterpillar ang Reclamation Sage since the former cannot be used against perennial problems like Null Rod and Blood Moon (for sone reason, several people in my group use this) while the latter can.

Auriok Salvagers was in the deck during its earlier versions but was replaced with the more slot efficient Muldrotha.

I really don't know what to help with, it seems so strong already. I would'nt like to play against that kind of deck haha.

Maybe Unburial Rites instead of Dread Return, might me complicated to get fast in 4 colors deck. Plus, the flashback has a lower cmc and does not require you to sack. Unless it is what you were aiming for.

Thoughtseize could be great too if you aim to remove answers from you opponent hands.

Thanks for the upvote and the suggestions.

The deck actually uses Dread Return’s via flashback since it is part of the combo. It is in the deck description if you are interested in finding out more about how the deck works.

I would however like to solicit the opinion of those who might want to help.

  1. I am thinking of cutting Hapless Researcher if favor of Reclamation Sage. Doing so give the Flash Hulk combo a way to deal with cards like Null Rod and Cursed Totem. This would, however, put a ton of pressure on Muldrotha as it would now be required in both Flash Hulk and Hermit Druid lines.

  2. I am also thinking of taking out a dork to make room for Elvish Spirit Guide. I figured this could get me out of an early Blood Moon, help me get more turn 1 wins and, at the very least, give me something to pitch to Survival of the Fittest.

  3. I am trying to find a slot for Sensei's Divining Top. Not sure if the deck needs it but I don’t see any drawback of having it in the deck if I can find a slot for it.

Would appreciate any inputs on these. Thanks!

Stuffy Doll!!! YOU NEED THIS AND GIVE IT FLASH IF YOU CAN SO IF SOMEONE SWINGS WITH A CREATURE FOR A LOT YOU CAN FLASH HIM OUT AND Saving Grace. OR ANY DAMAGE FOR THAT MATTER. ITS FUCKING HILARIOUS.

SORRY JUST ONE OF MY FAVORITE COMBO'S.

Lol. That does sound fun. I’d rather use Flash to win though.

First off, the deck looks really tight. I really like the combo line with Muldrothra. Do you find you see many cards off Tymna the Weaver? Given the deck is based so heavily on graveyard combo, is there any merit in running Ravos, Soultender instead?

Thanks, bro! Tymna and Thrasios hardly gets played since I tend to mulligan really aggressively to end games early. I doubt Ravos could offer anything substantial to the deck due to its cost. I would still prefer Tymna who might give me a card ot two whenever she sees play. It is usually enough to get me to where I want to be. She also works nicely with the Mirage tutors.

I see that you have a strong deck with three strong combos. I'm wondering if you've ever encountered a situation in which you haven't been able to play one of your combo pieces. Eg. without Silence or Grand Abolisher, someone Path to Exiles your Muldrotha, the Gravetide? Do you have another alternative wincon?

Thankfully that hasn't happened yet. But in such cases, we can still use the Ad Nauseam + Angel's Grace combo to draw out the entire deck, play Laboratory Maniac and a draw spell like Gitaxian Probe to win the came.

If the removal happens after we dump everything into the graveyard but prior to infinite mana, we lose unless we have Riftsweeper in hand and enough mana to play it, draw Muldothra and cast it on the same turn . Luckily, the deck is loaded with countermagic that costs 1 cmc or less. We always want to have at least 1 or two of those in hand just in case something unexpected happens.

I've been doing A LOT of playtesting and I kind of feel that cards like Spellseeker, Merchant Scroll and Survival of the Fittest seem to be too slow for the deck.

Any suggestions on what to replace them with? I'm looking specifically for cards that can give the deck more consistency in terms of setting us up to win on turn 2-3.

Have you thought about running an Intuition line with Snapcaster Mage? not sure if it would be faster, but could be a good way to set up combo. Though I can't speak from experience of using it.

Megalomania says... #14

How exactly does that work? Intuition is one of my favorite cards and would love to put it in the deck if it would be worth the slot.

You've got basic lines like Intuition into Reanimate, Necromancy and Protean Hulk (works really well if you have Cabal Therapy already) however you can do stuff like Snapcaster Mage, Reanimate, Muldrotha, the Gravetide and then go from there (given a burst of mana). You either cast Muldrotha, getting back snapcater who re-intuitions or you get back either reanimte (for Muldrotha) or snapcaster, getting reanimate. Or your can throw Dread Return in the mix given enough dorks. As mentioned, it may be a bit too slow for your deck however it gives you some options. Just a thought if you wanted to explore that route.

As far as burst speed goes though, I think your deck is getting to the limit of its ability simply becasue there aren't any better cards.

@enpc I have been considering your suggestions the past few days and I just don't think it will work for me. You're probably right about there not being any better cards left. I just can't help but feel that cards I previously mentioned are slowing the deck down. I'll probably be better off with more cantrips or removal spells.

All good - it was one of those "It might work but I have no in game experience idea" suggestions.

One card which I can speak for is Auriok Salvagers over Spellseeker potentially. It gives you more value from LED and while your average CMC goes up (slightly) it still feels like an ok inclusion. And another out might help the deck speed wise.

Personally I have been pairing them win Nihil Spellbomb and Conjurer's Bauble for extra value, but that's just me.

I would however strongly recommend Impulse - it digs deep.

Auriok Salvagers does make sense. It is another combo only card but it can potentially speed up the deck. I am not that concerned with cost since I hardly get to use Ad Nauseam. I would have taken it out of the deck if not for the graveyard hate being run by several decks in my meta. Thanks!

I think that you should consider the Boonweaver Giant and Pattern of Rebirth combo with Karmic Guide and Reveillark. Then add in an Academy Rector so that it is easier to get. I only suggest this because this deck seems like a more aggressive combo deck.

@Clyde_Bankston, I’m trying to limit combo only pieces in the deck. The cards you mentioned would fall under that category. Thank you for the suggestions though.

I haven't really played that much due to life. lol. But in the few games i've played, it seems bringing back Hapless Researcher was a good move as I had a couple of games where I was able to use it to send the Hulk to the graveyard for reanimation. I haven't felt the impact of the other cards but I might have a chance to test it some more this weekend.

The best I've got is that maybe you could switch Swords to Plowshares to Path to Exile . This deck is art. Out of curiosity, what card did you use for the deck picture (the demon holding the person)? I can't find it on your board.

Thank you for the comment and support.

I still prefer Swords because giving an opponent more life is inconsequential compared to giving them a land considering I win using Lab Maniac.

Yeah, the card is not in the list. I used Juzam Djinn for the deck picture because nostalgia. :)

List looks good dude. If you want to try something cool for midrange, adding reanimation lines can be very useful.
