Sideboard

Maybeboard

The best defense is a .....good defense?

So the idea here is to build an army of defenders and use their synergistic powers for victory. for the wincons there is the slow burn of Vent Sentinel, who will chip away at your opponent based on how many defenders you have (which is all your creatures); or explosive victory via Kaervek's Torch using the mana ramp of Axebane Guardian + Overgrown Battlement .

Also using Lobber Crew + Snake Umbra or Snake Umbra + Vent Sentinel is a good way too keep the cards in hand.

The sideboard holds cards that I think that would help against heavy removal, burn, bounce, or general hate. Adding any sort of hexproof helps keep your army of walls around for the final blow. As well as other assorted mega-burn spells, the best of which is Banefire because it cannot be countered at high levels of damage (kept out mostly due to fiscal reasons).

Like most of my deck I try to design it on a bit of budget. That is why most of the sideboard is not in the main deck, price. but also the deck seems fast enough to pull off a victory before the need for the mass hexproof.

The Maybeboard has just a few other directs this deck could go. Using white would allow for potential lifegain with Perimeter Captain, but honestly I don't know how useful that would be overall. But the addition of black and blue to create turtle mill deck is an interesting concept. I might make another deck using Phenax, God of Deception as the main wincom later.

As with all my decks, they are mostly for fun. I typically do not compete or have the funding to gather the cards I covet. Just dreaming up combos and fun gameplay. But still, Any suggestions, comments, upvotes, or whatever are always appreciated.Thx
