"You're just salty you got wrecked by defenders."

This is the evolution of my deck: I Mean No Offense. It feels much more streamlined, and focused. I'm trying to make this deck moderately competitive, and the changes I've made so far have been under that premise.

This deck is much stronger to Blood Moon than the previous iteration, and it's suited to deploy more quickly due to the faster lands. Additionally, trimming red (for the most part) allows me to run more basics. My creatures are effectively immune to lightning bolt (sorry Axebane Guardian), which also means they're slamming for a minimum of 4 under Assault Formation .

What I need is advice on dealing with Abrupt Decay, Pithing Needle/ Phyrexian Revoker, Ugin, the Spirit Dragon, and any obvious challenge for my deck.

Card Choices:

  • Overgrown Battlement: This guy's sweet. 2 mana 0/4 which is what formation wants, and he's a mana dork. He allows for large productions of green mana, so enabling all of my defenders to swing, or getting in some serious pumps is a huge upside. Landing a 4 drop (or two 2 drops) a turn earlier is cool too. He can enable large G-wave or Sphinx-Rev too, but I don't know that those two are staying in the deck.

  • Perimeter Captain: He's a bit of a hedge against burn and zoo in the main deck, but a 1 mana 0/4 is still what we want.

  • Spellskite: I'm so excited to run a deck that gets to mainboard Spellskite as a hoser AND a beater. Hopefully you know all the decks that Spellskite beats already, because the list is long, and I am lazy.

  • Sylvan Caryatid: Okay, maybe not an 0/4, but it still dodges lightning bolt. It lets me play my turn 4 on turn 3, fixes colors, and makes Worship a pain for a lot of decks.

  • Tree of Redemption : Okay, I admit, I just was to swing for 13... But he's good outside of that too! He kinda makes my life total 32... Kinda. But he is great vs Burn (if I'm still alive on turn 5), and will block tarmogyf forever and ever.

  • Wakestone Gargoyle : He's mostly a hedge against Pithing Needle naming AF, but he enables Wall of Denial to swing in, since AF can't target shroud. He also lets me swing with the team a lot easier the AFing everyone individually. Plus, flying is a powerful keyword.

  • Wall of Denial: Primarily in to powerhouse Worship for a free win against decks without answers (looking at you mono red).

  • Wall of Omens: In this deck, basically it's a 2 mana 4/4 that replaces itself. Also stall. 'nuff said.

  • Assault Formation : The bread and butter of the deck. It's a very important component, and without it, it's hard to win.

  • Detention Sphere: Catch-all removal. It hurts tokens, walkers, etc.

  • Worship: It's a free win against a lot of decks that can't kill enchantments. Can be sided out when irrelevant.

  • Path to Exile: Gotta react to threats when we can't block them.

  • Genesis Wave: It's a remnant from the last iteration, but it's so powerful (if it doesn't hit Path). I want to do some playtesting before I drop it.

  • Relic of Progenitus: A strange main deck card, I know, but I had a couple slots open that I wanted a cantrip in. This does that, and weakens goyfs (plus other graveyard strats). We don't care about our graveyard so why not, right?

  • Cinder Glade: Lets us splash red for "free". We run enough basics enable it being untapped, and as a one of, it doesn't hurt the main deck any. If it gets Ghost Quartered (which I doubt it will), there's always Sylvan Caryatid as back up red.

  • Lumbering Falls: This card seems nearly absurd against control. A hexproof 3/3 that's not a creature on opponents turn is really tough for them to answer, outside of Ghost Quarter or Tamiyo locking it down.

  • Stirring Wildwood: because flyers can be annoying, and sometimes we just need to bash in with a non-defender.
