@ Tarwyn, it's a mono-white card. Reminder text doesn't count as part of the card's color identity.

hkhssweiss I have been wanting to make a Tuvasa deck for a while and I like your version a lot. I just had a couple questions on some cards you are not running. :)

How come you do not run Teferi's Protection, instead of maybe heroic intervention. Academy reactor seems solid so you can get any enchantment you want. You are not running Verduran Enchantress. Is that because you have enough card draw? Sigil of the Empty Throne could be a second win con, but maybe too expensive for this type of deck? And last, thoughts on running Enchanted Evening so Tuvasa is bigger?

hkhssweiss Thank you for the great response!

One more question. Do you find yourself needing more counters or board wipes? Or is what you run enough normally. I know it probably depends on the playgroup but mine is on the stronger casual decks.

DivineKhaos No problem!

To also answer your question, I purposely made Tuvasa have no counterspells, for my own reasoning, it's 1. Dilutes the deck when you want to draw more enchantments and 2. I'm usually the threat and therefore it's more of a answer this now rather than I'm answering other people. I play in a degenerate meta so I'm often prone to having my board answered quite often, it's mostly play by ear and see what's on the field. If you know that there is a person playing a lot of boardwipes than go grab Shield of the Oversoul , Flickerform , or Hyena Umbra , same with targeted removal. Situations are always conditional and go to move is always to protect Tuvasa, against targeted removal I usually try to go for Shielding Plax or Vanishing . The more you play the more you can kinda expect what to happen but that's also the fun of it! I tuned my deck based on my meta and it reflects on how I play, if you feel like you need to add in counterspells or more protection, go for it! This is just my take on my Tuvasa deck and your free to adjust it as you see fit (major advocate of building your deck to suit your taste and personal preference!).

Amazing deck, have you thought about All That Glitters , Silence , Autumn's Veil , and Veil of Summer . they could could have you do some uninterrupted turns. all that gitters could replace Blessing of the Nephilim . Not sure about the rest tho.

Yo sam171z, haven't really thought about adding in more interaction as this is more of a voltron based deck. But Silence may go in as I really do favor that card a lot. I'm pretty anti protection spells in this deck as I am the threat haha, I have a foil All That Glitters on my table right now but don't really know what to cut for it, plus I really like the low curve haha. Blessing of the Nephilim is a pet card because it looks so dang beautiful foiled. Thanks for the feedback!

hkhssweiss Curious how much of the new spoiled cards you might add. A bunch of them look good for this deck Mainly looking at: Destiny Spinner , Heliod's Pilgrim , Bronzehide Lion , Nessian Wanderer , Setessan Champion , Staggering Insight .

Also let me know what you might replace if you decide to run any of these, or ones not spoiled yet!

Omg, so much from the new set!!! I am extremely excited to add in these new cards!!! The ones that are definitely going in are Destiny Spinner , Setessan Champion , and Calix, Destiny's Hand . These are auto includes, Destiny Spinner protects us against those nasty control players and Setessan is exactly what Tuvasa wants to be and the casting cost is so easy! Calix is a godsend as we can dig for more enchantments and is so decently costed as well!

Cuts will definitely be hard but the ones I am looking at currently most likely be Season of Growth , Favor of the Overbeing , and Blessing of the Nephilim . As much as I love the latter two cards...it might be time to cut them.

Ones that I might test that interest me may be:

There are definite so many options which is good, so I am most excited to try them out!

Nice I am glad you have seen most of them! Hmm as far as replacements: -I think Mesa Enchantress for Setessan Champion is the easiest since it is just better. -Wargate feels like a more expensive/weaker card when I have used it compared to the other tutors. -There is already so much card draw to where Season of Growth might be on the weaker side, so I agree on that one. -Staggering Insight is worth I think to stay alive since we do not have many blockers in a voltron list. -Dryad of the Ilysian Grove does seem insane for 3 CMC and is an enchantment itself! With all the card draw you always have multiple lands. -Maybe Abundance for Calix, Destiny's Hand? Same CMC and similar effect. You also have Mirri's Guile and a bunch of card draw so I don't think you need both at 4 CMC each. -Destiny Spinner really is just amazing for 2 CMC. Maybe for Eladamre's Call? While it is a great tutor, this list doesn't rely on specific creatures very much, as most of them do the same thing and normally you have 1 in hand within a few turns. -Blessing of the Nephilim is a nice 1 CMC +3/+3 and helps cyle draw easily, but ya no other effects so not sure!

Just some random thoughts, and hopefully it helps a little. I agree it is really hard to find what to cut and what to fit in. My voltron list is very similar since it was inspired by yours actually. Let me know if this helps at all!

Yo DivineKhaos~

Mesa Enchantress can be cut but I think having 8 Enchantress effect might be okay, especially since 2 of them are conditional aura based ones. Season of Growth would be the first one to go as we produce more than due to Serra's Sanctum .

Wargate is actually my pet favorite card, and it's not to be underestimated. A majority of the time it's to grab Serra's Sanctum , I am extremely reluctant to cut that card especially since you can grab about 82% of the deck depending on your mana input. I can see Eladamri's Call being cut for Destiny Spinner , great advice on that one!

Abundance is your actual way to prevent yourself from decking out. It was either between that card of Wheel of Sun and Moon , Abundance provides so much value since you are drawing so many cards. It is part of the core enchantress list that I run. Calix is another replenish effect when he ults and helps you dig when you are bricking on draws. I rather take out Leyline of Anticipation instead of Abundance.

Glad my list inspired yours, Tuvasa is definitely one of my favorite decks to play!

DivineKhaos says... #16

Oh I never thought about Abundance stopping you from decking yourself, or Wargate tutoring Serra’s for 3 mana. I am still newer to some of these cards so it is cool to see ways of using them. I agree Leyline could be cut since it is most impactful when you start with it; but flashing in auras does feel nice haha. Also Tuvasa has become one of my favorite voltrons as well because I also like commander not everyone plays

Instill Energy might be on the weaker side. Only really gives Tuvasa vigilance and no stats. Also Flicking Ward is nice, but since you can’t flash it in maybe the color you choose won’t help to another players removal. Although I guess you can always tutor for Sigara’s aid. Idk none of the cards are bad so all are hard to cut.

hkhssweiss says... #18

DivineKhaos, I would have to disagree with you there on Instill Energy being one of the weaker cards. Having that haste and pseudo-vigilance can be game breaking, not only that it also has interaction with Faeburrow Elder and Bloom Tender allowing you to double tap them for mana. Instill Energy is one of those rare cards that gives us haste without access to artifacts and red.

Flickering Ward is also one of those double duty cards that has more than one use. While it's great if you have Sigarda's Aid or Leyline of Anticipation out to flash and cantrip off of Tuvasa every turn. It's other use is for ending the game. In conjunction with Blind Obedience and infinite mana from Bloom Tender / Faeburrow Elder and Pemmin's Aura you go into infinite extort and drain everyone's life. This also incidentally can lead to infinite draws with an enchantress out which is why we add in Abundance as well so you can prevent yourself from decking out.

There are a couple hidden synergies and reason behind some cards I run, which is why I find Tuvasa always so refreshing to play. You have answers to a majority of the situation and while the deck is simple that anyone can play it, piloting it to it's maximum potential does include playing it through many many games and seeing what works and what doesn't work. Also accidentally hitting an infinite and decking myself out may have warranted the inclusion of certain cards :P

Yep, I just haven't acquired the cards for it all yet, but definitely adding in a couple cards. I'm probably going to pick up a lot of cards after tomorrow's tournament so look forward to seeing some minor changes!

Awesome, i was thinking of putting in the Siona, Captain of the Pyleas and Shielded by Faith combo into the mix.

hkhssweiss says... #23

That's a nice combo! You can also add in Concordant Crossroads to give them all haste and go for lethal once you have infinite creatures!~

I love this! I also have a Tuvasa deck (Tuvasa's Gym Routine) which basically follows the same mindset as yours although WHAAHAYAHAY less competitive. Yours is delightful though!! I wish I had access to cards like Burgeoning, Sylvan Library, or those delicious OG dual lands.

Out of curiosity, what's your go-to aura or enchantment to tutor up?

January 27, 2020 2:25 p.m.

hkhssweiss says... #25

Yo Paeldroth, glad ya like it!

My usual go to is usually any type of protection. It's usually Shielding Plax as it gives Tuvasa hexproof and the main way of her dying is usually by exile from a stray Swords or Path. Vanishing or Flickering Ward is my alternative way to protect her with Privileged Position is my last way.

In terms for what I tutor up...it all really depends. She is so versatile that you have answers to any situation. You need unblockable? Steel of the Godhead. You need Trample? Rancor. You need life? Daybreak Coronet. Extra damage? Ancestral Mask or Battle Mastery.

Hope that helps!
