Sideboard

Twiddle Storm is based on the old Pauper storm deck which used land enchantments and untap effects as a mana generation engine. When the deck is not limited to just common cards, the deck picks up a lot of cool tricks which allows it to become resilient, consistent, and completive.

Land Enchantments:

Utopia Sprawl Our best one primarily in the deck. Only able to stick this on a forest but allows us to start ramping turn 1 for any color we name. Early in the game, we will name blue so we can cantrip and dig; later, we will name red for Past in Flames and Grapeshot.

Fertile Ground This is our other way to profitably make extra mana (most often blue and red). Our best turn to play if we got it.

Overgrowth Just makes a lot of mana. Every iteration we net GG off this guy. Purely helpful when trying to cast Past in Flames and Gifts Ungiven.

Untappers

Twiddle The namesake of the deck. Simplistic. Untap the enchanted land = profit. Also can be used to prevent attackers (works very well against reanimator and infect).

Dream's Grip Basically Twiddle with the ability to do two things at once, which is rarely relevant.

Hidden Strings Normally the best untap effect we got. Allows us to spread the enchantment love to multiple lands for maximized profit. Also, allows us to generate red off of normal lands if we do not have an enchantment set to make it.

Other engine pieces

Gifts Ungiven Probably my favorite card ever. Ill just list our favorite packages.

  • MB
    • Twiddle/Dreams Grip/Hidden Strings/Past in Flames OR Merchant Scroll
    • Utopia Sprawl/Fertile Ground/Overgrowth/Simic Growth Chamber OR fetch land
    • Ideas Unbound/Serum Visions/Sleight of Hand/Gifts Ungiven
    • Grapeshot/Past in Flames/-/-
  • SB
    • Merchant Scroll/Snapcaster Mage/SB Option/SB Option

Past in Flames allows us to recycle our beautiful spells once more. More often than not, we will gifts for this, and, more often than not, we flash it back.

Other Stuff

Grapeshot Our win condition, easily hits 17-20 turn 3. Can reach over 60 easily if done correctly.

Ideas Unbound Generally used to find more spells once we start to go off. We do not really care about the side effect because if we do not kill, we prolly dont have a hand anyway.

Merchant Scroll Absolutely beautiful card. Allows us to set up great gift packages and allows our SB to be a bunch of 1 of blue instants.

Serum Visions/ Sleight of Hand Helps us set up and get rolling, or finds more spells to get us those last few storm counters we needed.

Side Board

Counterflux Our personal counter to opposing Storm decks. Also sometimes helpful against control.

Echoing Truth Because Leyline of the Void, Rest in Peace, and Leyline of Sanctity all exist in modern.

Gigadrowse Gains us tempo by tapping our opponent out or stalls the game like a fog.

Grapeshot Sometimes we need another copy.

Hurkys Recall Affinity can sometimes out race us. This puts a stop to that.

Merchant Scroll This card allows us to side in 3 copies of whatever we want from SB into our MB. Counting the 2 in the MB already, we have 5 copies of that spell now, counting Gifts You get the point.

Snapcaster Mage Just like the scroll, this makes our gift packages more complete.

Swan Song Just a general counterspell I bring in against Tempo and Control. Make sure you kill the bird with grapeshot for extra flavor c:

Trickbind This card does all sorts of weird and funny things. However, the real reason is to prevent our beefed up land from getting Ghost Quartered. But feel free to trickbind fetches, Ideas Unbound, Storm triggers, etc, etc, etc.

Lightning Bolt To put it bluntly Thalia and Eldeon kill us. Eldeon more so. We have to get rid of them or we can not go off. Death & Taxes and Burn have been the most miserable matchups I have had thus far. Still trying to think of a more eliquite way to deal with them
