with so many Shadowborn Apostle you may want to consider Thrumming Stone . I also think Edgewalker is a sweet card

the problem with thrumming stone, is that it costs 5 mana. if it was like ripple 8 maybe, but like, Apostles are already cheap enough to just cast on their own, and the deck has over enough card draw. Remembrance virtually does the same thing, but better for me.

Hi, i would recommend black and white tutors (Link: http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Search/Default.aspx?action=advanced&name=+[tutor]&color=|[B]|[W]), Adaptive Automaton , Caged Sun , Deathbringer Liege , Dictate of Heliod , Door of Destinies , Glorious Anthem , Hall of Triumph , Obelisk of Urd , and Spear of Heliod .

i have one searchable tutor in a deck that tutors already a lot. actually playing a tutor in this deck just seems a bit out of the spirit of edh. Using lord effects is not what this deck is trying to do. granted, yes, i CAN beatdown with my apostles, but then im just playing White/red. im just trying to have fun and do janky shit, like kill everyone with an Extractor Demon when someones at 2 life and i have Edgewalker .
Tell me that isnt a cool win. i dare you.

Looks like a fun deck to play :) How are the mana ramp and card draw? I kinda feel like this deck would benefit from Scroll Rack or something similar so you can put costly demons on top of your library and draw more apostles ;)
Have you considered Yawgmoth's Will ?
August 6, 2014 8:16 a.m.
Yawgmoth's Will is definately a card i need to consider. Scroll Rack would be in this deck. but i have another deck that needs one more than this. (Melek, Izzet Paragon )

Athreos, God of Passage is a fun idea, but Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker is a much better alternative.
Lands: Cut Plains and only white mana producers and replace them with lands that make any color or lands that make WB instead. You always need Black, and rarely need white.
You are missing Patriarch's Bidding and Tendrils of Agony
Why Extractor Demon if no Mortal Combat ? That's basically what it is good for in this deck.
I like Mirror Entity , and so would recommend that you cut some of the good but not great demons for Coat of Arms , Lightning Coils , Jar of Eyeballs

jk, you have Tendrils, I can't see.
also Phyrexian Reclamation > Haunted Crossroads unless you want it purely for thrumming stone, in which case, I recommend Insidious Dreams instead
August 17, 2014 9:59 p.m.
I completely disagree with the Shirei call. He costs 5 mana. And hes a 2/2. And he doesnt have indestructibility.
Anything above 4 mana usually will not get cast before i do my first apostle trigger.
Haunted Crossroads is in there not for apostles, but for demons.
Mortal Combat is in the deck. i havent got around to changing that. Also, There is a near infinite combo involving Athreos, Extractor demon, Edgewalker, And apostles that can potentially mill the table depending on if i have the mana or not. (Opponent at 3 or less life also required)
I do not want to add Coat of Arms to this deck. I do not want to make it apostle beatdown. Mirror entity is in there because its a white demon that can be good. i dont want to make this deck with all the lord effects. I dont want to cause any more political "Aggro" Towards me with lord effects than my deck already brings.
Patriarch's Bidding is awful for me. What do i get? A bunch of 1/1s that can potentially get me a demon? What does my opponent get? an actual creature? Thanks but no thanks.

Well, good luck with that combo and have fun playing, that's really what matters with apostles.

I'm not for or against Patriarch's Bidding ... 5 mana, ehhh.. but I think you're potentially looking at it the wrong way... if someone does a board wipe, you get them all back.. and if you're running g your deck right, their creatures will be exiled, or you will have the means to exile "the one good creature" they bring back into play. In fact, your commander instantly allows you to do so with any type of sac outlet.. it's board control, I'd take the mass amount off 1/1 creatures, and have them as the only creatures on the board.... hell, do the board wipe yourself, (bringing as many 1/1 white tokens on the battlefield), bring all your apostles back, sac some spirits to kill their "one good creature".. just for funs. Im not saying id run the card, im about 50/50 on it, but it certainly isnt a bad idea. like the deck, great commander.

Do singleton rules not overwrite Shadowborn Apostle's effect?
November 17, 2014 10:26 p.m.
No, They do not, Text on cards (Or Errata) > Any other Rule
(I'm a Lv 1 judge)
November 17, 2014 10:35 p.m.
Yes, it does in fact work for Relentless Rats
You can make a Relentless rats EDH deck
November 17, 2014 10:55 p.m.
It doesn't work."Shadowborn Apostles first ability lets you ignore only the four-of rule. It doesnt let you ignore format legality." From Wizard's themselves.
November 18, 2014 9:11 p.m.
Format legality means Banned/unbanned. It is unbanned, therefore it is legal, and you can play as many as you want. L2's and L3's have told me its completely legal (I'm a L1 myself)
November 19, 2014 3 a.m.
Also, its not like Commander is the most casual format or anything

Teysa, Orzhov Scion works a lot better with tons of white creatures and tokens to remove stuff...would you consider running Teysa, Envoy of Ghosts as your commander instead? I think she would be much better suited to your deck

Oh gawd. With Edgewalker out.... They lose instantly if you have Atheros out.
