Howdy all!

Here's my U/B Control deck. I haven't been playing magic very long (started during Scars of Mirrodin block) and from that point onwards I was hooked playing UB control. Since then I have been a little disappointed that UB control hasn't been seeing much play as the shocklands were reprinted so I like many others shifted over to Esper control. With the buddy lands rotating out and some more tap lands have come in I feel 3 colours is a little too adventurous at the moment, especially so early on in the new meta with everyone and their mums playing some form of R/x aggro, so I'm back to my old friend UB control.. yay!

I feel UB is pretty well positioned at the moment. In testing I've found the only 2 decks I've felt the match up wasn't in my favor was Bant Control and BW(maybe a splash of red) midrange. BW have access to cards like Thoughtseize and that does so much work against us, and they have access to Obzedat, Ghost Council and Bloodbaron of Viscopa to very resilient win cons.

One quick shout out to Returned Phalanx . That card is the nuts in this deck. Trades favorably with aggro decks, stave's of the early turns of aggression and if need be can be used to turn sideways as a decent threat. One of my favourite cards to play with in this deck and it makes Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver and Jace, Architect of Thought more playable in this deck.
