(Sideboard is a work in progress)
This deck is an attempt to attack the meta a bit, but in a very budget and rotation-proof way. Flyers are in a good spot right now against many of the aggressive decks such as zombies and mono-green, and many versions of the favorable winds decks have posted solid results in the past. With a little help from some tempo cards and pirate synergies, it might be enough to race aggro, get underneath control, and contend with midrange, all in one deck. Against control the deck is already aggressive and can punish a slow start, but there’s also duress/kitesail freebooter for hand disruption, and lookouts dispersal/negate for counters to help the matchup. Against midrange the evasive creatures are very good, and tempo cards such as dreamcaller siren along with removal, hand disruption and, if you need it, getting some creatures back from the yard really help to out value your opponent and push through damage. Warkite marauder is also very good here, as you can temporarily “remove” a blocker or a creature they would be gaining value from. Against aggro just out-race and out-tempo. Use removal and dreamcaller siren to clear the way for your attacks or to slow down their attacks, and use lookouts dispersal to put them behind as much as possible. If you can get to the later stages of the game, you should be able to win. While this deck isn’t the best, I feel it is well positioned against many of the popular decks in standard right now, and if you can play it right it can win many games. Also it’s really cheap to build so maybe it’s worth a shot. I don’t know if this is the best version of this type of deck, but I think something along these lines can do great things right now. For example, a mono-blue version with tempest djinn would be much faster, and while the u/b version is more well rounded, if your meta is more aggro/control and less midrange, mono-blue might be better. A case could also be made for u/r with the red for burn, but I like what black offers just a bit more, as it lets the deck deal with midrange and control better.

This link talks a lot about the different options with the deck, and it notes that to be more competitive, the deck needs copies 5-8 of favorable winds. I chose to use fell flagship for this purpose as there are enough pirates to maybe make it work.
