This is my UB take on the Heartless Combo deck mentioned
This is instead of mostly due to my limited acces to the G/U or G/B land. I also think that a more streamlined manabase can lead to a more reliable combo along one of three lines.
There is the core combo with Altar of the Brood + Heartless Summoning + Myr Retriever
. However, without countermagic or disruption to hold up this can be disrupted by a surgical extraction/extirpate/lobotomise and break the deck entirely.
as an alternate wincon, Grim Haruspex + Laboratory Maniac
allow you to win by drawing your own deck, or support a combo in process by drawing countermagic as the combo proceeds at sorcery speed.
Thridly, Myr superion feels to me like a great blocker/wall coming down as a 4/5 for 0 with heartless summoning in play.
Finally I have added a couple of copies of Havengul Lich, this guy helps the midrange game, by getting the combo back online if the myr retrievers and altar both get binned, you can pay one mana and fish part of the combo back onto the field, before slowly milling the opponent until something comes along with his activated ability.
I plan on squeezing in more haruspex/ lab maniacs to fill that side of the combo out, maybe even boarding into the slower moonlight myr/ lich combo to not be such a one-trick pony.
Comments are welcome, as are suggestions.
I do think that splashing green for revival/fetch is great, but I think the disruption and multiple avenues of play are gonna be more useful in the long run.
Oh, and I need to do more testing/reading on this deck, so numbers may go up/down
