Formortiis I'm not saying I'm the only one that can play mill, I'm saying you can't. I've implemented a lot of suggestions given ITT. Either help with the deck or gtfo. Do the world a favor and get laid. I will pay for it if necessary.

I'm trying to, but you're not letting me. In order for me to be able to help you, you need to accept that I can actually play mill (which I can).

Alright, I can't show a full match, but I can show one game which is fairly typical of all the games I've played against your mill deck. You'll have to be patient and give it a while, though, because Youtube seems to want to take 60 minutes to upload it.

Formortiis You say you play mill, then insult it as a archtype.Your not helping me mill, and that's what this thread is about. I'm trying to build a mill deck, not the world's best deck. For the last time constructive comments or an hero.

Just because I don't think mill in general is good doesn't mean I don't know how it works or how to play it. In fact, if anything it's because I DO know how it works and how to play it that I don't believe mill is good. That doesn't matter, though, because you want to mill and me thinking it's not a good archetype overall should have no bearing on that. You have to first accept that the advice I have to offer is actually valuable instead of instantly dismissing it because you don't like it.

Formortiis If you read this thread you would realize I implemented some of your suggestions. My problem is the way you make your point, like a dick. If you presented your point in a respectful manner no one would hate you. But you insist on being a dick so until you learn to play nice go fuck yourself.

@kraken47 & Formortiis: I just finished reading every post in this thread, and to weigh in on the situation: though I feel Formortiis was the slightest bit overbearing at times with his opinions, I also believe that he really did only start posting in this thread to help shore up what is clearly a far from perfect deck (not to mention alt win con) before ya'll started ganging up on him with harsh, not to mention, irrelevant accusations. Furthermore, I would be wary of how ya'll proceeded to lower things to a near infantile level by trolling his profile and decks in order to spam him with irrelevant, non-constructive posts. Kudos to Formortiis for keeping your cool and remaining articulate throughout, as well as following through on the youtube video demonstrating this deck's deficiencies. kraken47, I would reccommend not posting your decks on a public community website such as TO if you aren't prepared for occassionally harsh criticisms. That being said, +1 for standing by mill as a legit win con and your deck so passionately. I don't agree with you, but I respect your opinions. Also, thanks for all of the entertainment value of this whole thing.

That's just my .02 cents

PrinceOfNeurosis That vid doesn't prove anything. He started with a bad hand, and proceeded to make bad deciosions the whole time. Give up Jace's Phantasm to block 1 damage? I don't think so. Playing against yourself is far different from playing someone else.

He started with a bad hand

That hand was not worth mulling down to 5 over and you know it. You know full well you would have had to keep it.

Give up Jace's Phantasm to block 1 damage?

Phantasm didn't block the Noble (who would have swung for 2 by the way), he fought with him because Domri Rade made him.

Playing against yourself is far different from playing someone else.

You're right. Playing against myself means that your deck has more of a chance of winning since, based on everything you've said about your deck so far, I'm confident that YOU are the one who doesn't know how to play mill or even played your own mill deck.

Formortiis No I would have mulliganed, and even if I didn't I would have waited 1 more turn to play Jace's Phantasm because why risk loosing it before it's powered up. That fact alone would have changed the entire way the game went.

Formortiis No I would have mulliganed

Then you would have been a dumbass plain and simple simply for not knowing what card disadvantage is.

and even if I didn't I would have waited 1 more turn to play Jace's Phantasm because why risk loosing it before it's powered up.

If you had been paying attention, it wouldn't have mattered if you had waited or not because it would have been about turn 4 before Jace's Phantasm was a 5/5. By that time Domri could STILL just have Reckoner fight it and kill it. Either way you were screwed.

I think it's pretty safe to say at this point that if anyone here can't play mill properly, it's you.

Formortiis Turn 5? I had out Hedron Crab and 8 cards in your graveyard. Don't play Jace's Phantasm , wait till next turn play a land to mill 3 more, totaling 11 cards in your graveyard, then play Jace's Phantasm . I now have a 5/5 flier after waiting only 1 turn.

July 13, 2013 5:16 p.m.

Formortiis says... #18

And then Boros Reckoner and Domri would have simply killed it with more than enough creatures left over to deal a substantial amount of damage. There was no play you could have possibly done in that game to win. However, as I keep telling you, you're welcome to download Cockatrice and play me online if you feel you could do better. I assure you the result will remain the same.

Formortiis Can you at least Link cards so I know what your talking about. Card disadvantage or not I wouldn't have played that hand, only 1 direct mill card and Keening Stone and Jace, Memory Adept in the opening draw. Why would I want both of those in my starting hand? You seem to be implying that no one ever starts with 5 cards, which isn't true.

July 13, 2013 5:29 p.m.

Formortiis says... #20

People only mulligan down to 5 if they absolutely have to and when I say "Absolutely have to" I mean their 6 card hand has either 0 or 1 land in it. If you can actually play out your hand at 6, there's no reason for you not to keep it because mulliganing down to 5 puts you at a severe disadvantage.

Drop the aqueducts for Dimir Guildgate , Increasing Confusion for Breaking , side in Archive Trap . If you want to generate creatures, Undead Alchemist is always nice, and you could use some Wight of Precinct Six for early blockers that get big stupidly quick.

I would suggest having a definite win condition, like Artful Dodge plus your aberration, or Mindcrank + Duskmantle Guildmage .

Curse of the Bloody Tome is nice, but it might slow you down on the Mind Funeral , by turn 3 you would want to have milled at least 20 cards. For my Dimir Mill it usually goes Tome Scour (soon to be standard yay!), Breaking , Mind Sculpt + Tome Scour , or Breaking + Tome Scour , or Mind Funeral . That's at least 25-31 cards by turn 3. Then by turn 5 Jace, then turn 6 guildmage + mindcrank combo (soon to come in the mail) :D.

You could also add in some definite removal like Extirpate or Surgical Extraction . Against those retarded Burning-Tree Emissary , turn one tome scour plus Surgical Extraction paying 2 life, and get rid of all 4 of them in the deck is AMAZING... and usually produces rage/tears which is awesome.
