U/B Modern Demonic Rising

Modern Budget Casual

TheElegantDalekThay

A deck hinging on the Demonic Rising Enchantment. Got that Lone Revenant pre-con deck from Avacyn Restored as a present, and it was my first ever deck. Although LR is almost useless, I wanted to make the deck work, since I liked the idea. Focuses on taking advantage of the "exactly one creature" mechanic. Alchemist's Apprentice is cheap, and a solid turn 2 play IMO since he can either chump block or be sacrificed to help Demonic Rising trigger. Either way, you get a card. Fettergeist should never cost me more than 1 mana at my upkeep, provided I don't just sacrifice it to trigger Demonic Rising instead. If done correctly, these two creatures can help you get two demons out at once if you sac them once you already have a demon in play. Added Disciple of Bolas for extra "oomph" (card draw), kill spells, and counters to help me control the board. Altar's Reap and Launch Party can get rid of one of your creatures to trigger Homicidal Seclusion during/before combat, and then set off Demonic Rising at your end step. Also running Essence Harvest since X should ideally be 5 or more (hopefully 8+ with Homicidal Seclusion in play, which is huge for 3 CMC even at sorcery speed. This deck is a purely casual budget deck and can usually be taken down by decks with more creatures than you've got control, but it's really fun when it works right.
