I prefer the split of 3 Bile Blight and 3 Ultimate Price. With Ultimate Price in the format, it's a more reliable removal spell than Bile Blight. And no love for Silumgar, the Drifting Death or Dragonlord Silumgar? It allows us to play Silumgar's Scorn. Also a few Duress in the sideboard could help against the mirror.

The whole point of thoughtseize is that it it is a duress that also hits Pearl Lake Ancient, as well as both silumgars.... and that is good in other matchups. As of right now I am actually running duress because I haven't got a chance to pick up thoughtseize.... but all in all thoughtseize is far more consistent, and thus I will keep the thoughtseize.
Ultimate price, I will agree, IS better than bile blight..... except in certain matchups. The sad thing is that these matchups are our BAD matchups.... Red Deck Wins and Abzan Aggro. Both of these decks warrant bile blight over price because ultimate price hits absolutely nothing useful in Abzan Aggro (I mean, what are you going to kill? Roc? They still get their token and are up on card advantage.... It's pretty much way better to use a boardwipe). And versus RDW bile blight is the only non-boardwipe way to deal with hordeling outburst or dragon fodder... not to mention the horde of aggro creatures that they almost always have 2 of something out...
Lastly, you mention Dragonlord Silumgar and Old Silumgar so we can play scorn. I will not deny that I have tested scorn builds in the past.... the prospect of a standard counterspell is very appealing... but I couldn't get it to work well. The only time Scorn is really that much better than just a base hard counter like dissolve is early game, but even running 4 silumgars (in some combination of old and new) you will only have a 55-60% or so chance of getting one by turn 2. That is not really consistent enough for me... especially considering that its a worse Stymied Hopes otherwise. And as for Silumgar himself, I am not really a fan of either. New silumgar is a removal magnet... and because nowadays people are running lots of removal, he is almost sure to get removed immediately. I mean sure... you can just chill until your opponent is ready for a planeswalker ult.... but its so passive and using up a win con for that is just not good imo. Not to mention if they have untapped mana for a downfall the old Priority Planeswalker trick doesn't work (because casting and triggering are different abilities, so your opponent can downfall in response to the trigger). The old silumgar is better because of hexproof.... but the problem with him is that he is SO SLOW, not to mention limited in what he can do. Dealing only 3 damage a turn for 6 mana is pathetic... not to mention if your opponent can sneak a creature in while your tapped out to play silumgar, so he can block... All in all they are cool cards, but I think consistency is the way to go and using up a win con slot for Silumgars is not really what I want to do.
I will have to humbly decline all of your suggestions; however, if you believe I am wrong in my judgment of them, or have other changes you would recommend I will be happy to read your comment as to how I should edit this deck.

After some rethinking and more testing with the deck, I can agree with most of your statements. I respect your opinion because I like to hear other thoughts about my ideas or other ideas in general. How has Dragonlord's Prerogative been for you?
April 1, 2015 9:42 a.m.
Dragonlord's Prerogative has worked well as a 1 of. I tried running 2 but 1 for some reason seems to fit in the curve better (yes I know that 3 five drops 2 six 1 seven seems a lot better than 4,1,1 but for some reason I can never cast it when I want to when I run it as a 2 of). Maybe I am running the build wrong though... any ideas on making it work better?
P.S. I changed the sideboard.

Virulent Plague could be used as a 2 of in sideboard against the RDW match-up as is hard counters both dragon fodder and hordeling outburst as well as the tokens from rabblemaster.

I could definitely see Virulent Plague being good , the thing is both drown in sorrow and bile blight accomplish those things (and ultimate price also kills rabble before combat, so removes the the threat entirely). Builds with dragon fodder, outburst and rabble tend to be easier for my deck to cope with, and in my rather competitive fnm the only RDW decks played are hyper aggro decks with only 1 and two drops, and virulent plague would be dead in those matchups. The big problem really is I'm not sure what to take out for it.... what would you recommend?

I'm considering encase in ice for mono R... I'll let you know how it works out.

I would personally cut both Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver and Drown in Sorrow down to 3 copies each and add the 2 Virulent Plague.

Interesting.... I won't make those changes yet but I will definetely test that build out on cockatrice.... will let you know how it turns out.

How has Elspeth, Sun's Champion worked in this deck? I would have thought Silumgar, the Drifting Death or Dragonlord Silumgar would fit better. What do you think?
Also, how has this deck fared against Abzan Control?

This deck is great. Tested it and it is very good, at least for me. If you do not mind could you check out my control decks. I need feedback although my decks got me 2nd to 3rd place at FNM.
