Felt like updating an old The Key to the Vault abuse deck with some recent cards and see if it works.

The basic goal is a draw with turn 1 evasive blue creature, turn 2 Key, turn 3 equip Key and hit the opponent for 1, and gamble on the topdeck being a top end card.

Payoff cards are a mix of the classics and some fun-ofs. Valgavoth, Terror Eater, Etali, Primal Conqueror  , Omniscience and One with the Multiverse, Portal to Phyrexia, and Breach the Multiverse. I'm also putting in Hidetsugu and Kairi mainly as a combo with Breach but it also helps set up better topdecks for the Key. The World Spell can set free the top end cards stuck in hand.

The turn 1 creature package includes Spectral Sailor having flash/flying, Harrier Strix having flying/tap a permanent, Ingenious Prodigy having skulk, and Elusive Otter that evades weaker blockers and also pumps up the Key carrier for more card selection. This package has a reasonable amount of card draw as well to fight stalling out a bit.

Card selection is mainly from the Surveil cards. Mostly Conduit Pylons and Hidden Grotto. It's so important to dig for the Key as fast as possible that you're usually playing these over basics. Ephara's Dispersal is a solid defensive card with more Surveil. Surveil also helps set up your topdecks.

Bramble Familiar does a lot of things and this deck kinda wants all of it. The early ramp does helps. The adventure fills in as a pseudo top end payoff with a big mill effect much like Breach and the Surveil cards. Even the self bounce effect is useful in the right situations.

Muldrotha, the Gravetide and Bringer of the Last Gift are a few more top end options that can maybe make use of all the mill and Surveil cards in the graveyard.

The dream draw of turn 3 Key payoff is pretty unlikely though. With this mix of lands you usually have to wait an extra turn at least. This deck isn't going all in on blitzing the turn 3 gamble. But this deck kinda works on its own. It's fun.
