MaybeboardHellkite Overlord
An AMAZING finisher. 8 mana is not to hefty for this deck.
haste makes it worth the extra mana vs. Dragonlord
Atarka. Regen and firebreathing are useful at times.
Another huge difference is that Hellkite Overlord is not
legendary so you could potentially have 2 of them on the
battlefield. Totally want to put it in but don't know what to
cut.
Broodmate Dragon
A 6 mana for 2 4/4 flying creatures seems good but really
vanilla nothing too impactful.
Crux of Fate
Seems good but 5 mana is a hefty price for what is
essentially a Damnation leaving a creature or maybe 2
on the board.
Dreadbore
Sorcery speed 2 mana creature/planeswalker removal
seems to be good but really Terminate gets the job done
at INSTANT speed for the same cost but misses
planeswalkers.
Thunderbreak Regent
Punishes removal of your dragons, adding an early game
dragon as well. Not to be bad not sure if it's modern worthy.
GOAL
Deck aims to remove threats and disrupt opponent while
setting up ramp to get big threats out mid-game. Late game
is comprised of just hitting your opponent with Large
Dragons and winning. Note: Deck does not mean to be a
tribal dragon deck whatsoever. Dragons are meant to be
game enders, overwhelming opponents before they can
respond.
The Dragons
Thundermaw Hellkite
The most important dragon in this deck.
Nothing beats a turn 3 Thundermaw in this deck.
His ability kills tokens made with Lingering Souls and Bitterblossom
Dragonlord Atarka
VALUE. Creature/Planeswalker removal + 8/8
For 7 mana seems extremely strong.
The Spells
Inquisition of Kozilek
Hand disruption, can get rid of their early game
Maelstrom Pulse
Removes anything from the field except land
Can remove several copies of the same card
Terminate
2 mana creature removal.
Lightning Bolt
Staple Red Spell. Does a lot for 1 mana.
Ramp
Arbor Elf
Untaps Stomping Ground and Forest
Combos extremely well with Fertile Ground
Fertile Ground
Lands can tap for two mana
Arbor Elf
+
Fertile Ground
= 4 mana off one land
Eternal Witness
Excellent Utility get back a threat or a spell to reuse
Not really "Ramp" but only section it could fall under :)
Planeswalkers
Garruk Wildspeaker
+1 Helps Ramp, very strong in this deck
His -1 adds board presence
-4 usually win more can come in handy if he can survive and you sustain a strong board at the same time.
His ultimate just wins games
Ugin, the Spirit Dragon
+2 snipes anything for 3
-X is a boardwipe and your dragons survive
Ultimate just wins.
Sideboard
THIS NEEDS A LOT OF WORK
Suggestions
