Sideboard

Hello, This is my homebrew of an UGr Tempo deck. I've been playing Magic on and off since Core Set 7, but recently got back into standard at the beginning of M15. so I hope you guys enjoy!!

Gameplan: To stay ahead of your opponent and out-tempo-ing them. With Blazing fast starts that can potentially curve out an opponent by T4, or prolonging the game to late game through combat tricks. This deck is Designed to be effective at all stages of the game.

The deck was built for flexibility. It can play the controlly game rather well, but can switch to aggro on a dime. The decks main strength is understanding how other decks play so you can plan accordingly with your plays. Knowing is half the battle.

Honored Hierarch- He is an AMAZING tempo play with this deck. Great T1 drop, T2, you can keep clash mana or spell mana up, and swing. Holding up the added mana for a Clash of wills, or even flashing in Dimensional Infiltrator can apply immediate pressure on an opponents life total.

Dimensional Infiltrator- Underrated card. He can apply immediate pressure right out of the gate starting T3 after flashing him in. Can exile some cards out of your opponents deck, and can also be card advantage by using his ability to potentially dodge a kill spell. Flying is a plus as well.

Duskwatch Recruiter- An amazing card that most of us are familiar with. 2/2 body that can flip into a 3/3 and reduce your creature cast costs by 1 is phenominal. Can also act as a late game fuler by using his ability multiple times in the same turn. Loads of utility in this one card.

Bounding Krasis- one of the the decks main tools. Can be used at EOT to tap another players casted creature. Can blank a creature from attacking, or can offer surprise blocks by flashing in after attack step, untap and double block with him or another creature. Also, opens up a T3 flash krasis into Surrak T4 for 8 damage uncontested.

Surrak, the hunt-Caller- this dude is a beast. With the way the deck functions, is very easy to proc Formidable and get the hasty beat down. Big beater and needs to be dealt with.

IceFall regent- Used for tapping down creatures with an evasive body with a built in tool for survivability. Good for helping to control the field.

Ulvenwald Hydra- Newer edition. HUGE body with reach and gaurentees that you can hit 7 lands for the big man that drops at 7 in this deck. Lot of utility, free land, reach and a big body for 6 mana is amazing. Stellar card.

Dragonlord Atarka- No introduction needed for this guy. Just an absolute house that eats things and wins game. Nuff' Said here.

Clash of wills- Premier counter Spell

Lightning Axe- One mana R spell that deals 5 damage to creature of your choice at instant speed is amazing. Sure you have to discard a card, but more often than not you are gonna discard something that wouldnt be able to handle the creature you are dealing with.

Essence flux- This card has been absolutely amazing. This deck is FULL of ETB trigger creatures. This card can not only be used defensively to blank a targeted kill spell, but using this on Krasis for a free tap/untap. Hydra for a free land, Icefall to tap down another creature your opponent has (while making them waste a good 4-5 mana to try and kill it) or even using it on atarka to force more ETB activations is just insane. All for U. So much utility in this one card.

Nissa, Voice Of Zendikar- Great 3 mana PW that can help gum up the board to prolong the game to late game, can pump your creatures, and can draw you cards in that game. Amazing PW all around.

Jace, Unraveler of Secrets- Also an amazing PW. Can help you filter through your deck. Can clear up blockers/threats for a few turns to help you re-establish board state to buy you a few turns, and if you can get the ultimate off, basically wins you the game with the counter the first spell your opponents cast ability.

Sideboard:

Gaea's revenge- Used for destroying control decks. Both insanely powerful cards that cant be targeted or countered. Even better now that abzan charm is no longer available in standard. Absolute powerhouse.

Negate- Used for decks that cast alot of spells/PW. Good for controlly decks.

Radiant flames- Used for the decks that like to try and go wide on you fast. Very possible to get a 2 or 3 for 1 with this card.

Displacement Wave- For those decks that like to gum the board with tokens. 1UU to possibly board wipe an opponents field is really good.

Naturalize- Gets ride of enchantments and artifacts at instant speed. whats not to like about this card?

Sylvan Advocate- Useful early game against most aggro decks and vigilance is helpful to. Scales into late game as well due to ability.

Blessed Reincarnation- This is mainly for the decks that like to try and get ormendahl at all costs. Granted its conditional removal it gets rid of those serious game ending threats in a pinch.

I would like everyone's feedback on this. Let me know what you think!!!
