Wait, do we have to play with the decks? Or are you playing them against each other, if it's the first option, then I can't really do this challenge.

I think he's playing them against each other.

@KingSorin I'm playing the matches for you. Unfortunately, I won't be able to do it the other way around due to time.

after play testing my deck a bunch, i don't think it's going to go very far! lol

Well... That's good. It was just ambiguous from the way you said the 'matches are going up' made it sound like we may have to play them. Goodio

I feel like with the Deathrite Shaman s in my deck, mine should be able to knock out other golgari graveyard decks :p

I'm a third through the first rounds, and it has been interesting matches so far!

In order to be done sometime this week, I have decided to do BO1 matches, in the first round, else I would have gotten nowhere.

I look forward to the results! Also to hearing who the next challenge will be... i do enjoy brewing.

Quickpoll:

Do you want to hear the results of the first round, before I move on to the second round of the Golgari challenge?

Sure. There's no reason not to

Also, you might want to post the request for the second guild call. Just because if you're going to give a week for the building, then most of us ( or anyone else for that matter) would be able to get started on the decks.

And most defiantly, we want to know the results of all rounds!

@shadowfoxxx: The thing is, I'm going on vacation for 9 days, from the 29th and forward, so I'll definitely get it up before then. Right now I am very busy (understatement) with the current matches. So for the next challenge you'll each have 10 days (compared to 4 for this one) to brew a deck, I feel that should be sufficient.

That's more than enough time, i think

I'm Surprised how many people didn't Run either Deathrite Shaman or Vulturous Zombie in their deck.

June 25, 2013 1:05 p.m.

APPLE01DOJ says... #21

Deathrite Shaman jumps the price of your deck up too much. The 100$ price tag seems to have made a bunch of good decks, rather crappy. IMO. It's either Deathrite Shaman or Overgrown Tomb or a combination of both, u couldn't really afford to run playsets of both and have any meat to ur deck.

My deck is running Vulturous Zombie and decided to use mana expensive Grisly Spectacle to fuel it, but also because both of the blocks in question have weak removal (outside of Putrefy ) Abrupt Decay again raises the $$$ price too much. :/

...wish I would have ran something besides Sisters of Stone Death as my win con.

June 25, 2013 2:02 p.m.

Narwek says... #22

Your right about the price limit, but it wouldn't be much of a challenge without it. Everyone would be running the same cards. As for the Sisters of Stone Death , I did it too, so don't feel too bad :)

psychoza says... #23

They were definitely considered for my deck but I banked on Varolz, the Scar-Striped and Lotleth Troll to be my power houses.

June 25, 2013 2:15 p.m.

Narwek says... #24

The thing that made me saddest about this challenge was no Farseek s

June 25, 2013 2:20 p.m.

dcarpntr says... #25

@APPLE01DOJ: The counterpoint to the price limit is that if there wasn't the $100 limit, everyone would use 4 Dark Confidant , 4 Deathrite Shaman , 4 Abrupt Decay , 4 Putrefy , 4 Overgrown Tomb , and then the rest of our decks might start to look differently. By putting on a limit, we are forced to be at least a little different. Although I agree with you that the price limit holds back on a deck's overall power level.

@Narwek: Why not Farseek ? It was originally printed in Ravnica: City of Guilds.
