Yeah, there have been a few incarnations of decent targets for a Speed Dredge build. Annihilator creatures are just the most consistent that I've found, but they are by no means the only ones who'd fit.

Most of that depends on budget, which I try and keep to a minimum on this deck.

Have you given thought to newer cards such as Persist?

No, I have not revamped this build in quite some time. Persist isn't a bad call at all; I'd be curious to see how the deck plays with some of them in place of Dread Return. Thanks for the suggestion!

Bought and love this deck so much. Went from budget to expensive to have more consistent turn 2 and 3 attacking. Dread Return has came in clutch alot with dredge and with using it and bringing it back. I added entomb and replaced unearth. Added shallow grave to the deck so I was thinking what do I remove. I was playing with 4 dread return , 4 animate dead, 3 shallow grave and 4 exhume all at once and was not bad. But that was 15 reanimate cards. Never had an issue but that was with 65 cards in the deck. Going down to 12 seems okay. But with not of this world that would be 64 cards. I have ulamog, the CeaselessHunger in there for lawls. Taking out animate dead was perfect once adding not from this world but unless I use 64 cards I'll only have 4 bring backs. How do you do with only 7 seems like you would have to mulligan always. I thought about aye going down to 2 Dakmor Salvage or taking them all out And just do 20 swamp since I added entomb and removed Dread Return. Divest seems awesome for the price but with ulamog, the CeaselessHunger in there idk if it could put a gold hand to a halt.

Tell me what you think about these changes Going down to 8 reanimates sounds awful but I don't get to test this deck alot all my friends ask me to put it away lol

So I finally got tonuse it with those changes and the persist is nice but ulamog can't be played if it's the only one. And more shallow grave screwed me because I gotnit twice but sacrificed Putrid I'm and then it was on top. So got more fine tuning to do.

Yeah, I really think it's already tweaked to be just about as nasty as can be. There are other creatures who are nasty that can be dredged out, but none that are as consistent about keeping control as Annihilator creatures. Played that early, it's almost a guarantee that you're eating mana with them this way and no other creature despite how powerful a win condition they are seems to work quite as often for me.

As always, I welcome people playing around with other ideas on my builds, but if you're looking for a straight competitive edge deck that completely exploits the dredge mechanic to win the maximum number of games, then this configuration I have now is really the highest win % that I've tested (and I tested quite a few variants of this deck way back in the day).

The only exception is 4x Entomb, and that would be the only real upgrade that I can see. The only reason I never got around to doing this is that I built the deck as a Budget variant as a kind of concept, and a full playset of Entombs is easily equal if not greater than the entire rest of the deck combined. Someday I'll end up adding them in, although it's already quite brutal without them.

I'm glad you liked this strategy though, I too find it difficult to get many repeat takers to really grind out test games with this deck, haha.

It's amazing 100% I love it! My version hasn't lost a 1 on 1. However only played it maybe 20 times. Ulamog comes out the get mad. Entomb was a life changer ulamog makes them loose their land instantly. Exhume is sweet but swapped it for persist had a long start game and letting them get a card back was annoying. Dread is so much Mana and without Culling of the Weak it's hard to use. Shallow grave is insane having no summoning sickness but if they kill Putrid before you can pull your annihilater. I spent the extra to try and get a higher 1% of golden hands making it to have more mulligans. I love budget concepts as well that's what drew me to it. I don't wanna really say my version or my take the credit is all yours I just wanted a higher rate for the extra cash. All those cards doubled in price since you built this deck so regulardless if I sold any I'd be happy. Can you look at what I did and see what you would change if need be. I'd really like your opinion as the whole idea and setup was your brain hahaha

At work so hard to link the cards but I know you know what they are.

Update exhume > persist if you are using a legendary at all. Them getting a low Mana cost creature back is nothing to worry about.
