Umbris Voltron + Horrors, Nightmares, and exile sub-theme.

Win through commander damage, exile all of your opponents stuff.

My big takeaway with Umbris was to use symmetrical mill effects and then exile all of those cards from graveyards, that way you get Umbris pumped up without having to account for one of your opponents losing out of nowhere. Clone effects like Sakashima let you double up on the Umbris triggers as well as giving you security from single-target removal. Horrors aren't the best tribe, but I'm running a good bit just for the synergies with Umbris. Cards like Sewer Nemesis that benefit from high graveyard counts didn't make the final cut because it's our goal for our opponents to have 0 cards in their graveyard.

Nightmare Shepherd gives us extra security by ensuring all of our non-tokens come back, and it synergizes with Umbris as well, since it turns our creatures into Nightmares. The three Ashioks help us with exiling our opponent's library. Cards like Baleful Mastery, Resculpt, and Reality Shift all let us exile things directly. Dauthi Voidwalker, Planar Void, and Leyline of the Void all put things straight into exile, pumping Umbris up quite a bit. Doom Whisperer, Dream Eater and Sludge Monster are all decent creatures that happen to be Horrors / Nightmares, making them fit well with Umbris. Spellskite also happens to be a horror, and helps with protecting our commander by redirecting spells for free.

Exile wipes include Extinction Event, Nightmare Unmaking, and Shadows' Verdict. They might not be as versatile as a Damnation, but the fact that they synergize with our deck makes them more valuable in my book, and the upside is that we get to pick what gets hit in most cases. I can also see this deck struggling with mass creature strategies, so the Verdict is one of my personal favorite finds while brewing for this deck.

Counterspells are always good in Blue but here they should be prioritized to keep Umbris in play. Enchantments that give unblockable will let us one hit KO a single opponent if there are a measly 20 cards our opponents own in exile, which should be easy to get to with mill + exile effects.

Wheel effects let us refill our hand, but they also force our opponents to put things into graveyards and hopefully into exile.

One of the coolest things to do is steal all of your opponent's mana with Oblivion Sower.
