Unbroken Chromanti-Funsies

Standard*

Vaalthurion

Sorcery (3)

My attempt to make a competitive 5-color deck that features Chromanitcore as the wincon.

The entire deck revolves around versatility, with toolbox cards like the charms and creatures that can morph for early board presence while also having late game utility. Since (good) 5-Mana decks are so rare in the first place, just by virtue of using all 5 colors, your opponent will not likely know how to play against you. "Temur charm out of nowhere" was mumbled during one FNM, as my opponent played right into it's counter targt spell function.

The wincon aims to get a Chromanticore out by turn 5 or sooner and or equip a Godsend on a creature before that - preferably equipping it on a Chromanticore for maximum Chromantifunsies!

Getting one of each color is surprisingly easily accomplished, especially with Rattleclaw Mystic and the multi-colored lands/mana confluence. Sarkhan Unbroken was an obvious go-to choice as he not only provides a color I may be lacking, but he provides a creature that can be equiped/bestowed next turn.

It's slow, so there's some cheap removal to hold off aggression in the early game.

In the very likely event that Chromanticore is taken out, Soulflayer "revives" it nicely, while also benefiting from Mantis Rider and Siege Rhino.

It's performed well at FNM so far. Unfortunately the sets are about to rotate out and I'll lose the core cards that this deck was built around. Not sure if I'll be able to replace them in the near future. :(
