I saw a somewhat wacky Squee, Goblin Nabob EDH deck (link: General Squee) that sort of inspired this deck. It's fun to build around "bad" legends like Squee. Ben-Ben, Akki Hermit is almost as bad of a General as you can get (not as bad as the old do-nothing legends like Jasmine Boreal ). He's a 1/1 for 4 mana that encourages you to not play anything -- pretty bad, but fun.

Basilisk Collar on Ben-Ben will earn us insane amounts of life while ensuring we get to kill something.
Thornbite Staff lets Ben-Ben kill all attackers
Godo, Bandit Warlord finds either of the above
Vedalken Orrery lets us flash in cards after using Ben-Ben's ability
Goblin Welder combos with Solemn Simulacrum to continually find more Mountains
Cards like Fumiko the Lowblood and Rage Nimbus help kill utility creatures
Stuffy Doll and Mogg Maniac give us extra targets for Ben-Ben, and we can make Mogg Maniac indestructible with Darksteel Plate
Mana rocks like Coalition Relic help us to not tap our Mountains, which will also help us with a Manabarbs out.

I chose not to run Angel's Trumpet because Ben-Ben would just die in combat if he attacked. Other than that, let's hear your suggestions!
