Ok, I found my list of my matchups from FNM last night.
Round 1. Not sure what this guy was going for, some kind of janky jund list. It really didn't do much.
Game 1 I won with 24 life, not much was done before turn 6 for me, other than kill a couple of creatures, I took 1 from a deathrite, dropping me to 17, he drops griselbrand a few turns later with no other creatures, tribute to hunger took care of that. Long game from me pinging him with staff of nin from 17-8 life before finally digging deep enough for a bonfire for win.
Game 2, I boarded out a little kill because I really didn't need it. Was a much faster game. Turn 6 staff again. He got me to 7, i pinged him to 17, bonfire for 6, ping to 5, bonfire for game.
Round 2. Actual Jund Midrange.
Game 1. Lots of back and forth, I stabilized at 3 with him at 27, Jace/drownyard for the win.
Game 2. Pretty 1 sided post board. Opening hand of 4 lands and 2 slaughtergames and an Olivia. Definite keeper. Lol. He turn 2 farseek, turn 3 farseek turn 4 olivia, end of turn tribute puttin me at 23, turn 4 slaughter games huntmaster, him none in hand, Garruk in hand tho. him turn 5 garruk make token, me dreadbore killing garruk, ultimate price killing token, blue mana open, unsummon in hand. turn 6 him, play thragtusk, to 25 life, end of turn unsummon, my turn, snapcaster, slaughtergames thragtusk, him not happy. him drawgo, me slaughtergames huntmaster, kill his token, only thing left he has is lillianas, nighthawks and deathrites. Yeah, that's not gonna win him the game. especially when I have a lot of kill in my deck. I dropped an olivia with 8 mana in play, he scooped.
Round 3. Someone tried to immitate my grixis list. Good idea, decent changes, ended up being a grixis delver list.
Game 1. I took myself down to 16 with shocks, he never kept a creature out to do damage. He was at 6, he was tapped out from rakdos return putting me at 8, end of turn flash back alchemy, niv mizzet to hand, draw snapcaster, play niv. He draws plays augur and wiffs.
Game 2, I'm not sure what he sided for me other than slaughtergames, and that's pretty much all he played. He slaughtergames my slaughtergames which I lol'd at hard, I answered everything he did, dropped Nicol bolas with 11 mana in play, yeah i was toying with him, counterfluxed his syncopate, I ended up winning still at 20 life.
Round 4. A damn good janky esper control/tokens/aggro/extort/lifegain deck. This guy's been playing magic since alpha, so he builds jank and makes it work good. His deck's normally my toughest matchup.
Game 1. Lots of back and forth, he takes me to 3 with his tokens and extort, a lucky topdeck bonfire allowed me to stabilize and win but it was a long haul. He also got very mana screwed too. Only 3 lands the entire game.
Game 2. Went to 16 off of my shocks. No extort from him, able to keep his board presence down enough for him to only take me to 7 life, him 5 lands in play, I drop nicol bolas, blowing up his only blue source. He scoops being at 16 life. Lol.
Round 5. Playing against Aristocrats.deck.
Game 1. I take myself down to 18 from shocks, then from 13 to 11 from a shock, stabilize at 8, he's at 10, I drop olivia, he drops falkenrath, I have 4 mana open, he swings, I ping falkenrath, he sacks his only other creatuer so he can get that 4 damage, thru, next turn I take it and he scoops being at only 10 life.
Game 2. I go from 19 to 15 from shocks, slaughtergames getting rid of falkenrath, I kill most his creatures, he drops me to 8, I drop nicol bolas turn 8 blowing up one of his 2 red lands, he scoops to nicol bolas.
Boarded in 2 pillar, 2 spear, 2 slaughtergames, 2 sever the bloodline.
Round 6, finally in top 8.
Playing against the esper jank again. I was his only loss. And I was the only one who was 5-0.
Game 1. I win at 20, he didn't draw but 3 lands. :(
Game 2. Extort kicked my ass. Lol. A turn 2 blind obedience for him, and he killed me with him having 27 life. My only loss for the evening.
Game 3, turn 4 olivia for me, pinged off his tokens on my turn 5, swing 5, beat face with olivia. He Detsphere my oliva, I drop Niv, he flash back his tokens, equips a pike to them, pass, I ping his tokens, swing 5, putting him at 2, ping him once, drew a slip off the attack and a pillar off the ping, pillar for game. :)
Round 7 top 4. Played against B/G aggro. Definitely my toughest match of the night.
Game1. Turn 1 experiment followed by a deathrite turn 2 isn't bad. Lol. Took some doing but I ended up with just enough kill to keep him at bay. I stabilized at 1, which everyone complains about because it happens alot. :) Took him from 15 to dead with only having 1 life. Thinking about maybe an elixir of immortality in the board. Man I miss Pristine Talisman. He drops predator ooze, I drop olivia with having 11 mana in play, ping, take pred ooze, he scoops.
Game 2. I stabilize at 5. Slaughtergames is a hell of a card. :) Got rid of his rancors, strangleroots, and predator oozes. Wasn't much of a game after that. Still tho, it was pretty close. Got him to 3, searing spear for game.
Round 8. Finally in the finals and it's like 1am. Lol. Playing the kid that tried to copy my Grixis.
Game 1. He drops me to 11, I stabilize, take control, win with Jace/drownyard.
Game 2. He drops me to 5, I drop him to 3. Spear him for game, counterflux, sadface, snapcaster spear for win. :) This game was pretty drawn out. Both of us slaughtergames, I get his delvers and his Bob2.0Duskmantle Seer, he gets my olivia and niv mizzet. Ended up being a race to see who can win with snaps/augurs for beats. Bonfire, tragic slip, pillar, spear pretty much won me the game. A snapcaster-slaughtergames by him getting my 2 jaces hurt me, tried with drownyard, got lucky and he Psychic Spiral a turn too soon, leaving me with 1 card in library. He took bad advice between matches and thought spiral counted itself as in the graveyard before effect resolved. Was a very close one.
