First new deck in a long time! Loosely inspired by the DotP 2014 deck "Deadwalkers", I wanted to build something that focused on Geralf's Messenger. His ETB effect can go a long way especially with Undying. I figured, why not make a deck that makes a point to make your opponent lose as much life as fast as possible while making use of your creatures to their full extent. The best use of Geralf's Messenger is with Fling or Reckless Abandon. He comes down, your opponent loses 2 life, then you deal 3-4 damage with the 2 spells and he comes back for another 2 life lost. That's a possible 8 life in 2 turns. Then throw another "Throw" spell in the mix, and you're hitting for 11-12 damage utilizing one creature. To support that plan are cheap spells that lower your opponents life fast. Lightning Bolt and Bump in the Night are both 1 cost, 3 life gone spells. Turn 1 and 2 you'll most likely be using these to your advantage. Blightning is a great turn 3 alternative to Geralf's Messenger. It deals 3 and puts your opponent down 2 cards. Hellhole Rats is also great for some potential damage and also serves as an extra body. The other Undying creatures are food for Fling and Reckless Abandon and are just pesky to deal with. Lastly are the big finishers. Havoc Festival, although late game, can be very effective to get the final strike in. Your opponent has 7 or less life? Play Havoc Festival and bring them down to Lightning Bolt range. The other game-ender is Exsanguinate. If it doesn't end the game right away, it can certainly swing the game state in your favor if you happen to get down low on life. I hope you guys enjoy this deck and I always welcome suggestions!
